MIDDLEBURY BLANKS PLATTSBURGH

Brittany Cronin scored her team-leading 12th and 13th goals of the season as Middlebury picked up a 3-0 win over Plattsburgh in the first meeting between the two schools since 1987. The Panthers wrap up their regular season on Saturday at home against Connecticut College.

Cronin opened the scoring at 24:32 as she took a pass down low from Caity Abshere before finishing. The Panthers gained some breathing room just before the half as Laura Kwoh scored with a great shot from an odd angle near the endline. The 2-0 lead held up until Cronin blasted a hard shot in the net from 10 yards away on the left side with 5:25 left to play. Middlebury outshot Plattsburgh 22-10 on the day, while Els Van Woert made four saves in goal for her third shutout of the season. Sara Laroche and Joia Aliperti combined to make 13 saves for the Cardinals.
