Sophomore Cassie Kearney (Rockland, Mass.) of the Middlebury College women's cross country team was honored when the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its list of All-American recipients following the NCAA Championship. The top-40 finishers in the 6K race garnered All-American status. Kearney helped guide the Panther women to a 15th-place finish among 32 teams competing at the meet hosted by Spaulding University and the Louisville Sports Commission in Louisville, Kentucky.
Kearney was the first Panther to cross the line in Saturday's race, recording a time of 22:01 to place 26th overall in the 277-woman race and pick up her second All-American accolade after a 37th-place effort in 2018. She garnered top-25 efforts five races this fall leading up to the national meet, including a ninth-place finish (21:41.7) in the Connecticut College Invitational. Kearney was 25th at the NESCAC Championship in 23:29.1, followed by a 27th-place run at the regional (22:19.60) to record her second-consecutive all-region honor.
