  • Cross Country Teams Receive Academic Honors

    The men's and women's cross country teams were recently honored by the National Collegiate Division III Cross Country Coaches Association. Both Panther teams received All-Academic recognition for the fall semester, boasting a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or higher during the season. This marks the second straight year that both teams have qualified for this award.
  • Krieg Places Third At NCAA's - Butcher Competes For The Men

    The Middlebury women's cross country team earned a 15th place finish out of 32 teams competing at the NCAA Championships hosted by St. Olaf in Minnesota. Amherst won the title, followed by Plattsburgh, Washington Univ. and Calvin. Finishing third overall among 280 racers competing was Alexandra Krieg. The junior earned All-American honors with a time of 21:23, 29 seconds off the winning pace.
  • Cross Country Headed To Nationals

    The Middlebury College women's cross country team has once again qualified for the upcoming NCAA Championships. The defending NCAA Champions will race at St. Olaf College in Minnesota this Saturday in the championship meet. Taking part in the race for the women will be Ceara Danaher, Kate Hirschboeck, Alexandra Krieg, Amanda Lee, Sarah Norton and Kaitlynn Saldanha, with alternate, Anna Chavis.   • Cross Country Teams Compete At Regionals - Women Qualify

    The Middlebury cross country teams were in action at the 2007 NCAA Regionals hosted by Connecticut College on Saturday. The women finished the 47-team race in fifth place, while the men placed 12th overall. Based on their fifth place finish, the women have qualified for next week's NCAA Championship.

    The Panther cross country teams took part in the ECAC Championships hosted by Williams. Middlebury rested its top six runners on both sides, but still turned in impressive performances. The women placed third in the 31-team race, while the men came in seventh among 37 squads.
  • Krieg & Butcher Earn NESCAC Honors

    Middlebury College cross country runners Alexandra Krieg (Wellesley, Mass.) and Jimmy Butcher (Garden City, N.Y.) have been named to the All-NESCAC first-team. All-Conference teams are based on results from the recent NESCAC Championship race at Williams College on Saturday, Oct. 27th. Krieg moved up from the 2006 All-Conference second-team by recording her fifth top 10 finish of the year in the championship race. Butcher did the same after a ninth place finish in the '06 conference meet.

    The Middlebury cross country teams were in action at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Williams on Saturday. The women placed fourth in the 11-team race, while the men came in sixth place.
  • Cross Country Teams Prepare For NESCAC Championship

    The 2007 NESCAC Cross Country Championships will take place this Saturday at Mt. Greylock High School in Williamstown, Mass. The 25th annual championship will be hosted by Williams College, with the event getting underway at 12:00 p.m. with the start of the women's 6-kilometer championship race and will be followed at 1:00 p.m. by the men's 8-kilometer championship race.
  • Middlebury Races At Albany Invitational

    The Panther cross country teams were in action in huge meets at the University of Albany over the weekend, with Division I, II and III teams competing. The women placed sixth of 29 teams, while the men placed seventh among 26 teams competing.
  • Panthers Compete At Open N.E.'s

    The Middlebury College cross country teams took part in the open New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Massachusetts over the weekend. Teams from Division I, II and III competed in the event, with the Middlebury women placing ninth out of 44 teams. The men's squad finished 21st out of 43 teams competing.

    The Middlebury cross country teams both cruised to victories at the State Meet hosted by Lyndon State College. The men won the seven-team race with nine of the top 10 finishers, while the women placed eight of the top 10 in the eight-team race.

    The Middlebury cross country teams were in action once again on Saturday as they took part in the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams. The Panther men placed fourth of 11 teams, while the women were fourth in a four-team event.
  • Cross Country Teams Open With Wins At Panther Invitational

    The Middlebury cross country teams opened up their fall season by hosting the Panther Invitational. The women's team won a five-team race (77 racers), while the men won their eight-team (80 racers) event.
