  • Wise Earns All-NESCAC Honors

    Middlebury College volleyball sophomore Maggie Wise (Winchester, Va.) was honored when the league announced its All-NESCAC recipients, landing a spot on the second team. The sophomore outside hitter helped guide the Panthers to a 15-10 record in 2019, advancing to the league’s semifinal round.
  • Volleyball Falls In NESCAC Semifinals

    Fifth-seeded Middlebury saw its season come to an end with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-20) loss at top-seeded Tufts (25-1) in a NESCAC Semifinal contest. The Panthers end their season with a 15-10 mark, while the No. 14 Jumbos will take part in the championship match on Sunday at noon.
  • Panthers Edge Amherst in NESCAC Quarterfinals

    The fifth-seeded Middlebury volleyball team posted a thrilling 3-2 victory in the NESCAC Quarterfinals (25-17, 20-25, 25-16, 18-25, 16-14) over fourth-seeded Amherst on Friday evening. The five-set match was contested in Tufts’ Chase Gymnasium. Middlebury (15-9) advances to play in Saturday’s semifinals against top-seeded Tufts at 1:00 p.m., while the Mammoths fall to 19-6.
  • Volleyball Begins Quest for NESCAC Title

    Looking for its second NESCAC Volleyball Tournament title in the last four years and sixth overall, fifth-seeded Middlebury begins its quest when it squares off with fourth-seeded Amherst on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal match. The two teams played on September 27 in Amherst, as the Mammoths earned a three-set victory (25-21, 25-15, 25-20). Semifinal matches will be played on Saturday, November 9 followed by the championship match on Sunday, November 10 hosted by Tufts in Cousens Gymnasium.
  • Wise Selected NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College volleyball player Maggie Wise (Winchester, Va.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week. The sophomore outside hitter averaged 3.64 kills and 2.45 digs per set, as the Panthers won two NESCAC road matches and posted a 3-0 record for the week. She recorded double-digit kills in each match, including a 17-kill and 16-dig effort during a five-set win at Williams, to go along with three blocks. Wise leads the Panthers and ranks third in the conference in kills (260) and fourth in kills per set (3.17).
  • Panthers End Regular Season With Sweep of Hamilton

    The Middlebury volleyball team capped its regular season Saturday with a 3-0 road victory (29-27, 25-15, 25-12) over Hamilton (10-13, 3-7) in the Margaret Bundy Scott Field House. The Panthers (14-9, 6-4) earned the No. 5 seed in next weekend's NESCAC Tournament and open with fourth-seeded Amherst on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. Top-seeded Tufts will host championship weekend.
  • Middlebury Edges Williams In Five-Set Thriller

    The Middlebury volleyball team won the opening two sets, lost the next two and edged Williams (14-9, 5-4) in the decisive frame for a 3-2 road victory (25-16, 25-23, 26-28, 22-25, 17-15) in Chandler Gymnasium. The Panthers (13-9, 5-4) conclude their regular-season schedule Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. conference match at Hamilton.
  • Volleyball Eases Past Plymouth State
    October 29, 2019
    Middlebury cruised past visiting Plymouth State in three sets on Tuesday in Pepin Gymnasium by scores of 25-13, 26-24, 25-20 in the final non-conference match of the season. The Panthers (12-9) return to action on Friday with a 7:00 p.m. road contest at Williams, while Plymouth State (29-3) hosts Eastern Connecticut State and St. Joseph’s (L.I.) on Saturday.
  • Panther Volleyball Downed By No. 14 Tufts
    October 26, 2019
    Middlebury battled No. 14 Tufts for three sets on Saturday in Pepin Gymnasium before falling by scores of 25-15, 27-25, 25-16 in NESCAC action. The Panthers (11-9, 4-4) return to action on Tuesday with a 7:00 p.m. home match against Plymouth State, while the 14th-ranked Jumbos (21-1, 8-0) host Bates on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Volleyball Falls to Bowdoin in Tight Four-Setter

    The Middlebury volleyball team dropped a narrow 3-1 NESCAC decision to Bowdoin (25-20, 26-24, 24-26, 25-19) on Friday in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (11-8, 4-3) return to the court Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. home match against No. 14 Tufts, while the Polar Bears (13-6, 5-2) travel to Amherst tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
  • Panthers End New England Challenge By Splitting Two Matches

    The Middlebury volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday during the final day of the New England Challenge hosted by MIT. In the day’s first contest, the Panthers (11-7) defeated Springfield by a 3-0 score (25-21, 25-17, 25-22), before falling to No. 22 Babson in three tight sets during the afternoon (25-21, 25-22, 27-25). The Panthers return to action on Friday with a 7:00 p.m. home match against Bowdoin.
  • Volleyball Edged By MIT on Day One of New England Challenge

    Middlebury battled back after dropping the first two sets to level the match at 2-2, but was edged in five sets (25-18, 25-19, 22-25, 22-25, 15-10) by MIT (19-4) on Friday during the opening day of the New England Challenge. The Panthers (10-6) return to action on Saturday, playing an 11:00 a.m. match against Springfield, followed by a 3:30 p.m. contest against 22nd-ranked Babson. Both contests will be played at MIT.

The Panthers (10-5, 4-2) return to the court Friday with a 7:00 p.m. match at MIT as part of the New England Challenge, while the Camels (6-10, 0-7) travel to Elms on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

The Panthers (9-5, 3-2) return to the courts Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. home match against Connecticut College, while the Cardinals (14-2, 5-1) travel to Amherst tomorrow for a 1:00 p.m. contest.

The Panthers (9-4) return to action at home Friday with a 7:00 p.m. match against 24th-ranked Wesleyan, while the Thoroughbreds (10-8) entertain Clarkson at the same time.

    The Middlebury volleyball team won the first two sets and the final stanza during a four-set victory (25-19, 25-14, 18-25, 25-13) over Trinity (7-7, 0-3) on Friday evening. The Panthers (8-3, 3-1) return to action Saturday on the road with a 1:00 p.m. match at Endicott.

    The Middlebury volleyball team opened the home portion of its 2019 schedule with a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-19, 25-18) of Colby-Sawyer on Wednesday in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (5-2) return to the court Friday when they jump back into NESCAC play with an 8:00 p.m. road tilt at Colby, while Colby-Sawyer (7-7) plays St. Joseph’s (Maine) and Husson on Saturday.

    The Middlebury volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday in SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Field House. In the day's first contest, the Panthers (4-2) edged the host Bears by a 3-0 score (26-24, 25-16, 25-20), before St. Lawrence posted a come-from-behind victory in five sets during the afternoon (22-25, 23-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-12). Middlebury returns to action on Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home match against Colby-Sawyer.

    Middlebury fell in straight sets at No. 23 Clarkson (9-0) on Friday evening by scores of 25-8, 25-20 and 25-16 at Alumni Gymnasium. The Panthers (3-1) return to action Saturday with an 11:00 a.m. match at SUNY Potsdam, followed by a contest against St. Lawrence at 1:00 p.m.

    Middlebury eased past host Saint Michael’s (0-3) in straight sets Tuesday evening by scores of 25-11, 25-8 and 25-9 in the Ross Sports Center. The Panthers (3-0), winners of 10-straight matchups between the two programs, return to action Friday for a 7:00 p.m. match at Clarkson.

    The Middlebury women's volleyball team had a solid start to the 2019 season, as the Panthers netted a pair of wins Saturday during the Union Tri-Match. Middlebury was victorious 3-1 against Manhattanville (25-21, 25-15, 20-25, 25-17) in its initial match, and capped the day with a come-from-behind 3-2 triumph (21-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-13, 15-9) over the host Dutchwomen. The Panthers (2-0) return to action on Tuesday when they travel for a 7:00 p.m. match at St. Michael’s.
