Middlebury College volleyball player Sarah Staver (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) has been named College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District I First-Team Academic All-District selections by the organization. The senior helped lead Middlebury to a 17-6 record in 2018.
Staver earned her first all-district nod and owns a 3.53 grade point average as a biochemistry major. She also was selected as both a First-Team AVCA All-Region and First-Team All-NESCAC selection. The middle hitter led the league and ranked seventh nationally with a .396 hitting percentage. She was second on the Panthers in both kills per set (3.11) and kills (258), sitting sixth and seventh among her league peers in those categories, respectively.
The senior also finished with a career-best 29 service aces. She became just the fifth player in program history to reach 200 block assists with 207.
Staver will now be placed on a national ballot with the Academic All-American team slated to be released on December 12.
