The women’s volleyball team improved to 9-0 on the season with a pair of wins at Hamilton (0-2, 2-10) on Saturday. The Panthers topped the host school 3-0 (17,16, 17) in a NESCAC contest, before defeating Union by a score of 3-1 (19, 25, 20-25, 22). Middlebury returns to action on Tuesday night at Plattsburgh.
Piper Underbrink led a balanced attack against Hamilton with seven kills and an .875 hitting percentage, followed by Megan Jarchow with six. Hannah Blackburn earned 12 digs, Lauren Alper had 11, while Melanie English have five totals blocks in the victory.
Jarchow pounded out 18 kills against Union, while Amy Hart had 15 and Olivia Kolodka earned 14. Four players had double-digits in digs, led by Hart’s 13 and a dozen from Alper. Kathryn Haderlein finished the match with 48 assists, while English had three solo blocks.
