The Middlebury women’s volleyball team picked up a win in their first match at the Hall of Fame Classic hosted by Smith and Mount Holyoke. The Panthers (16-5) earned a solid 3-0 (18, 22, 23) victory over Wellesley (23-4) in a match played at Smith. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when they take on Brandeis at 9:00 a.m. and Springfield at 1:00 p.m.
Megan Jarchow earned 11 kills in the match with no errors for a hitting percentage of .733. Amy Hart added 10 kills in the win, while Julia Gibbs chipped in with eight. Kathryn Haderlein had 33 assists and three service aces, while Hart added seven digs and four service aces. Caitlin Barrett led the team defensively with 10 digs on the night.
