Women's Volleyball Drops Home-Opener

The Middlebury women's volleyball team opened its home season with a marathon match against Union. The Panthers dropped the first set 29-27 before tying the match with a win in the second set. The teams split the next two, before Union picked up a 15-11 win in the fifth and final set.

Lindsay Patterson and Jane Handel each had 17 kills to pace the offensive attack. Handel ended the night with 24 digs, Natalie DuPre had 21, while Patterson earned 17. Laurent Barrett boasted 52 assists in the match, while Patterson had six service aces.
