Women's Volleyball Goes 2-2 At Amherst Classic

The Middlebury College women's volleyball team went 2-2 over the weekend as they took part in the Amherst Classic. Middlebury opened the tourney with a 3-1 win over Westfield State on Friday night. Junior Lexie Fisher (San Francisco, Calif.) had 20 kills and 19 digs in the match to lead Middlebury, while sophomore Kate Heath (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) had 17 kills and 10 digs. Senior Amy Heath (Whitefish Bay, Wis.) added nine kills in the contest, sophomore Olivia Minkhorst (Atlanta, Ga.) had 20 digs, while senior Lacee Patterson (Aspen, Colo.) dished out 55 assists.

Middlebury opened the next day with a 3-1 win over Brandeis. Fisher had 18 kills, K. Heath had 13, while sophomore Kelly Nichols (Greendale, Wis.) earned 11. Minkhorst came up with 27 digs in the match, while Patterson had 52 assists.

The Panthers dropped their first match of the weekend as they fell 3-1 to Johnson & Wales. K. Heath had a dozen kills in the match, while first-year player Reisa Bloch (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) earned 26 digs.

Middlebury ended the tourney with a 3-0 loss to the host school from Amherst. K. Heath had nine kills in the loss, while Bloch picked up 22 digs.
