The Panther women's volleyball team won four more matches over the weekend to improve to 8-0 overall and 3-0 in NESCAC play.
The week began with Middlebury defeating Plattsburgh for the second time this season, this time by a score of 3-0. Senior Sydney Hartsock (Snohomish, Wash.) and Katy Hicks (Santa Barbara, Calif.) each pounded out 11 kills in the match, while junior Jamie Wong (San Francisco, Calif.), sophomore Lacee Patterson (Aspen, Colo.) and first-year player Christine Grimaldi (Westport, Conn.) each had 10 digs in the match. Senior Laurie Wollin (Colleyville, Texas) paced the team with 28 assists.
The Panthers then played their first NESCAC weekend as they took on Colby, Bates and Bowdoin at Hamilton. The weekend began with a 3-0 win over Colby. Hicks led the team with nine kills, while Patterson added eight. Patterson, Wong and Hartsock each had 11 digs on the night.
The day next, Middlebury earned a 3-0 win over Bates. Patterson had a dozen kills, while Wong made 15 digs to lead the team to the win.
In their final match of the weekend, Middlebury defeated Bowdoin 3-2 in a tight five-set match. Patterson led the team with 10 kills and 21 digs on the afternoon. Wong added 18 kills in the match, while Wollin dished out 32 assists.
