  • Panther Track & Field Teams Honored For Academic Excellence
    August 11, 2014
    The Middlebury track and field teams were recently honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The men were one of 93 to become a Division III All-Academic Track & Field Team, earning a grade point average of 3.10 or better, tying Rochester for the nation’s sixth-highest cumulative team GPA of 3.49. The women were one of 158 teams to earn the honor, owning one of the nation’s top GPAs with a 3.54.
  • Field House Aims for January Opening
    July 24, 2014
    Over the past several months, cranes and excavating equipment have given way to roofers and electricians as the College's new field house takes shape at the southern end of campus. The 110,000-square-foot structure is scheduled for completion by mid-January 2015.
  • Pincus Finishes Ninth In Javelin At NCAA Championship

    Lauren Pincus capped off her career as a member of the Middlebury women’s track & field team with a ninth-place finish in the javelin toss during the final day of the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio.
  • Strom Finishes Tied for 15th In High Jump On Day Two Of NCAA Championship

    Laura Strom represented the Middlebury women’s track & field team in the high jump competition during the second day of the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio. The third and final day of competition will take place on Saturday at Selby Stadium as Lauren Pincus will participate in the women’s javelin competition beginning at noon.
  • Middlebury Track & Field Completes Day One Of NCAA Championship

    A trio of athletes from the Middlebury men’s track & field team competed in their respective events during the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio. Action continues on Friday at Selby Stadium as Laura Strom will take part in the women’s high jump competition beginning at 2:00 p.m.
  • Five Panther Track & Field Athletes Headed to NCAA Championships

    Five members of the Middlebury College track & field teams will take part in the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Championships to take place on May 22-24. The events will take place inside Selby Field on the George Gauthier Track and will be hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
  • Track Athletes Compete At ECAC's - McCallum Breaks 15-Year Old Mark

    Members of the Middlebury track and field teams had one more chance to qualify for the upcoming NCAA's, competing at the ECAC Championship event hosted by Rensselaer. Jason McCallum broke the school’s 15-year old pole vault record, clearing 15’11.25” to earn All-ECAC honors with a third-place effort.
  • Two School Records Fall, Track & Field Teams Take Part in Open New Englands

    A pair of school records fell on Saturday as the Middlebury College track & field teams took part in the Open New England Championships hosted by Westfield State. The men finished in a tie for 23rd out of 38 scoring teams at the event, while the women were in a tie for 37th of 39. Top-eight finishers earned All-New England honors. The teams will return to action next Thursday and Friday at the ECAC Championships hosted by RPI.
  • Maxwell Wins 1500, Panther Track & Field Teams Produce High Finishes at DIII New England’s

    An event win by Alison Maxwell during the 1500-meter run highlighted the Middlebury track & field teams’ performances in the Division III New England Championships hosted by Springfield. The Panther women finished in fourth place out of 33 teams competing with 47 points, while the men were 11th out of 32 teams. Top-eight finishers in each event earned All-New England honors.
  • Blackburn Breaks School Record During Day Two of DIII New England’s

    Middlebury’s Hannah Blackburn broke the Middlebury track & field program’s outdoor record in the long jump, while Lauren Pincus posted a top-four performance in the javelin toss. The pair highlighted the second day of the 2014 Division III New England Championships hosted by Springfield. The three-day meet concludes on Saturday with events scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
  • Nichols Named Most Outstanding Male Rookie, Beatty Selected Men’s Coach of the Year

    Following the successes of the NESCAC Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Championships this past Saturday at Colby College, a total of 20 Panthers were named to the All-NESCAC Team. Additionally, rookie Alex Nichols (Brunswick, Maine) was selected as the Most Outstanding Male Rookie, while Head Coach Martin Beatty and his staff were named the Men’s Track & Field Coaching Staff of the Year following the team’s second-place finish.
  • Panther Men Finish Second, Women Third During NESCAC Championships

    Behind five event wins for the men and a relay victory on the women’s side, the Middlebury men’s track & field team finished with a program-best runner-up showing, while the women were third at the 2014 NESCAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Colby. Tufts claimed the men’s crown with 178.90 points just ahead of Middlebury’s 166.50 points, while the Williams women won the team title (179) ahead of Tufts (126) and Middlebury (109.50).
  • Panther Track & Field Teams Headed To NESCAC Championship

    Colby will serve as the host of the 2014 NESCAC Track & Field Outdoor Championships on Saturday, April 26 at Harold Alfond Stadium in Waterville, Maine. Action gets underway at 9:00 a.m. Saturday with the Panthers looking to contend for several event titles.
  • Panther Track & Field Teams Compete in Non-Scoring Albany Spring Classic

    Competing against mostly Division I schools, the Middlebury track & field teams took part Saturday in the University of Albany Spring Classic. The Panthers will have a week off before they take part in the NESCAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Colby.

    The Middlebury College track & field teams took part in the Army Six Way Team Meet on Saturday that included several Division I schools. The Panthers will return to action next Saturday when they compete in the Albany Invitational.
  • Panther Track & Field Teams Compete in Dual Against Springfield

    The Middlebury College track & field teams competed at Springfield on Saturday afternoon in a dual meet against the Pride. Several Panthers won events at the meet including some impressive results in windy conditions. The men won by a score of 100-85, while the women were victorious 125-70.
  • Panther Track & Field Wins Four Events During PLNU Invitational

    The Middlebury track & field teams recorded a quartet of individual event victories, as they concluded their annual spring trip taking part in the Point Loma Nazarene University Invitational. The Panthers return to action next Saturday when they travel to Massachusetts for a dual against Springfield.
  • Middlebury-Springfield Dual Meet Moved to Springfield
    March 28, 2014
    Due to track conditions, the Springfield-Middlebury dual outdoor track & field meet originally scheduled for Saturday, April 5 at Middlebury’s Dragone Track & Field Complex has been moved. The meet will now take place on the same date at Springfield’s Blake Track & Field in Springfield, Massachusetts.
  • Pincus Breaks School Record, Track & Field Teams Open Spring in California

    Lauren Pincus broke a 13-year old school record in the javelin as the Middlebury track and field teams opened up their spring seasons at the Ross & Sharon Irwin Meet. The meet was hosted by Point Loma Nazarene University in California. The Panthers return to action next Saturday at the same school, and will compete in the PLNU Invitational.
  • Middlebury Track Teams Complete Indoor Schedule at NCAA Championships

    Selected members of the Middlebury track & field teams closed out the indoor portion of their respective schedules when they competed during the final day of the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships. The two-day event was hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University in the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska.
  • Women’s DMR All-American Performance Highlights Day One of NCAA Indoors

    The Middlebury women’s indoor DMR team earned All-American honors for the fifth-straight year during the final event of day one of the 2014 NCAA Indoor Championships. The two-day event is hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University in the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska.
  • Panthers Send 10 to NCAA Track & Field Championship Meet

    A total of 10 members of the Middlebury College indoor track & field teams will take part in the 2014 NCAA Championships from March 14-15. The championships are taking place at the Bob Devaney Sports Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska and will be hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan University.
  • Morris Wins 400m Dash as Panther Track Competes at ECACs

    The Panther indoor track teams were in action on Saturday competing at the ECAC Championships. The meet, comprised of more than 60 men’s and 60 women’s teams, was held at the Reggie Lewis Center just outside Boston with athletes looking to qualify and better their respective marks for next weekend's NCAA Championships.
  • Three School Records Fall as Middlebury Track Competes at Open N.E. Championships

    A trio of Middlebury indoor track records fell  as the Panthers competed at the Open New England Championships on Saturday hosted by Division I Boston University. The event featured over 70 schools combined from all three NCAA divisions. The teams will return to the track next Saturday for the ECAC Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
  • Morris Wins 400 as Women’s Indoor Track Eighth, Men 15th at New England’s

    Alexandra Morris won the 400-meter dash leading the Middlebury women’s indoor track team to an eighth-place finish Saturday at the New England Championships hosted by Springfield, while the men were 14th at M.I.T. The women racked up 25 team points with 28 teams, while the men had 16.5 points with 26 teams competing.
  • Middlebury Track Teams Compete at Tufts Cupid Challenge

    The Middlebury indoor track teams competed at the 2014 Tufts Cupid Challenge on Saturday. The unscored meet featured numerous nationally-ranked programs from across the northeast. The Panthers will return to the track next weekend when they take part in the Division III New England Championships.
  • School Records Fall as Track Teams Compete at Valentine Invitational

    School records established by Alexandra Morris in the women’s 400-meter dash and Bryan Holtzman during the men’s 200-meter dash highlighted the efforts of the Middlebury indoor track teams during the two-day Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday. The event featured many Division I, II and III participants from across the country.

    The Middlebury indoor track teams took part in the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday. Teams from Division I, II and III competed at the meet, with several Panthers turning in several top-eight performances.

    The Middlebury men’s and women’s indoor track teams were in action at the two-day McGill Team Challenge in Montreal. The Panthers return to action next Saturday when they take part in the Dartmouth Classic beginning at 11:00 a.m.
  • Indoor Track Teams Compete Against Pair of Division I Foes at UVM

    The Middlebury men’s and women’s indoor track teams were in action on Friday, January 17th as they took part in a tri meet against a pair of Division I teams in Saint Peter’s University and host University of Vermont. The Panthers will return to action next Friday when they take part in the McGill Team Challenge.
