Track & Field Takes Part In Open New England's

The Middlebury College track & field teams took part in the Open New England Championships hosted by Stonehill. The men finished 11th out of 36 scoring teams at the event, while the women were 19th of 35. The men's 4x100 relay team of juniors Kevin Chu (Burlington, Vt.) and Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.), along with sophomores Fritz Parker (Arlington, Va.) and Will Bain (Dover, Mass.) broke the school record with a time of 42.09, earning All-New England honors. Top eight finishers earned All-New England honors.

Holtzman also turned in a pair of impressive finishes in the 100 and 200 meter races. He finished fourth in the 100 with a time of 10.94, while coming in fifth in the 200 event in 22.13. Senior Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) also earned All-New England honors, placing seventh in the 1,500 (3:53.33).

            The Middlebury women were strong in the 1,500, with a pair of top six finishes. Senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) came in second overall in 4:30.07, while sophomore Alison Maxwell (Port Angeles, Wash.) was sixth with a time of 4:35.11. First-year thrower Carly Anderson (Mercer Island, Wash.) placed seventh in the javelin (127’7”), senior Sarah O’Brien (Wellesley, Mass.) was eighth in the 800 (2:14.77), while sophomore Katie Carlson (Princeton, Mass.) came in eighth in the 10,000 (39:18.09).
