The Middlebury College track & field teams took part in a meet at Army on Saturday, taking on several Division I schools. Senior Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) earned a win in the 1,500 meter race, finishing with a time of 3:53.33, just ahead of junior teammate Wilder Schaaf (Ashland, Ore.) (3:52.81).
Earning second place finishes for the men were sophomore Will Bain (Dover, Mass.) in the 100 (11.47) and junior Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) in the 200 (22.51). Holtzman, Bain, junior Kevin Chu (Burlington, Vt.) and sophomore Fritz Parker (Arlington, Va.) were part of the 4x100 team that finished second with a time of 42.87. Junior Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) placed third in the 400 (50.15), sophomore Kevin Wood (Lincolnshire, Ill.) was third in the 5,000 (15:23.17), junior Sam Craft (Hamden, Conn.) finished third in the 800 (1:55.03), while rookie Decklan Robinson (Hamilton, Mass.) was third in the high jump (6’2.25”).
On the women’s side, senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) won the 5,000 with a time of 17:28.97. Sophomore Summer Spillane (Shelburne, Vt.) turned in a solid time in the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing in 12:26.38. Senior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) was third in the 400 (57.62), while sophomore Alison Maxwell (Port Angeles, Wash.) came in third in the 1,500 (4:37.85).
