Women's DMR Team Breaks National Record

The Middlebury College women's indoor track DMR relay team continued to impress on Friday night. Middlebury has won the last two indoor titles, and Friday night they set an all-time Division III indoor record. The foursome was competing at the Open New England Championships at Boston University, earning a second place finish with a time of 11:32.36. Senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) (1600m), senior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) (800m), rookie Alex Morris (London, England) (400m) and senior Sarah O'Brien (Wellesley, Mass.) (1200m) comprised the record-breaking team that topped the old record of 11:34.36 set by UW-Platteville.

Other top finishers for the women were sophomore Alison Maxwell (Port Angeles, Wash.) in the mile (11th-5:00.53) and senior Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) in the high jump (15th-5'5").

A pair of Panther men set school records at the New England meet. Senior Anthony Lee (Plainsboro, N.J.) did so in the 3,000 (7th-8:21.12), while junior Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) set a school mark in the 200 (14th--22.30). Just behind Lee in the 3,000 was sophomore Kevin Wood (Lincolnshire, Ill.), who earned a time of 8:27.56 to finish in eighth.

The men's DMR team comprised of seniors Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) and Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) and juniors Wilder Schaaf (Ashland, Ore.) and Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) placed fifth with a time of 9:55.27.
