The Panther indoor track teams took part in the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday afternoon. Teams from Division I, II and III competed at the meet, with several Panthers turning in solid performances. Juniors Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) and Kevin Chu (Burlington,Vt.), along with first-year racer Lauren Henry (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) all set school records at the meet.
Holtzman broke his own school mark in the 60 meter race, placing fourth overall in 7.09 seconds. Chu accomplished the feat by breaking his own mark in the 60 meter hurdles, finishing the event in third place in 8.32 seconds. Henry’s record-breaking time of 8.05 seconds came in the 60 meter event.
Earning second place finishes were senior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) in the mile (5:01.38), sophomore Emma McGuirk (Marblehead, Mass.) in the triple jump (34’2.25”) and rookie Katherine Tercek (Los Angeles, Calif.) in the 3,000 (10:36.92).
Senior Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) earned a second place finish for the men in the 3,000, finishing with a time of 8:41.95. The Panthers placed runners in second, third and fourth place in the mile race, led by Davies (4:16.04), junior Wilder Schaaf (Ashland, Ore.) (4:16.19) and senior Anthony Lee (Plainsboro, N.J.) (4:20.61). Both sophomore Taylor Shortsleeve (Medfield, Mass.) and rookie Deklan Robinson (Hamilton, Mass.) cleared 6’2” in the high jump to finish second and third.
