  • Cramer Among Top 30 Nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year

    Recent Middlebury College graduate Margo Cramer '12 has been chosen as one of the top 30 nominees for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Cramer was a two-sport standout for the Panthers, starring in both cross country and track and field.

    Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.), a 2012 graduate of Middlebury College and a former member of the Panthers’ cross country and track and field squads, has been nominated for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year Award by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.
  • Track Teams Finish Strong At NCAAs

    The Middlebury College track and field team finished strong on the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripts in California. The Panther men finished tied for eighth among 82 teams scoring, while the women were tied for 15th among 80 scoring squads. Four different athletes earned All-American honors in six events on the final day of competition.

    Three more athletes competed on day two of the 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships. The events are taking place on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripts in California at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium. Junior Grace Doering earned All-American honors in the high jump, placing eighth overall by clearing 5’5.75”.

    Middlebury College athlete Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) and assistant coach Nicole Wilkerson were recently honored by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association). Cramer was named the New England Region female track athlete of the year, while Wilkerson was named the N.E. Region men’s assistant coach of the year.
  • Schmidt Earns All-American Honors

    Four Middlebury athletes competed on day one of the 2012 NCAA Championships. The events are taking place on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripts in California at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium. Michael Schmidt earned All-American honors in the 10,000 meters, placing second overall with a time of 30:32.84. The senior pulled ahead to hold the lead late in the race, but saw Tim Nelson of Wisconsin-Stout pull away on the final two laps for the victory.

    Nine members of the Middlebury College track and field teams have qualified for the upcoming NCAA Championships. The events take place May 24-26 on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripts in California at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium. Six women and three men will represent the squad at the championships.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams took a handful of athletes to compete in the ECAC Championships hosted by Rensselaer. Junior Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) was the team’s top finisher, clearing 5’4.5” to finish second in the high jump.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams took part in the 2012 Outdoor New England Championships hosted by MIT. Teams from Division I, II and III competed, with the Panther men placing 10th of 38 and the women coming in 11th among 35 teams. Senior Michael Schmidt (Winnetka, Ill.) earned New England Champion honors in the 5,000 with a time of 14:20, 15 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

    The Middlebury track and field teams competed at the 2012 New England Championships hosted by MIT. The women placed sixth among 27 teams, while the men came in 12th. Junior Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) won the N.E. title in the high jump, clearing 5’7.25”. Also taking home the New England title was junior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.), who won the 1,500 in 4:30.80.
  • Track Athletes Earn NESCAC Honors

    Twenty-one members of the Middlebury College Track & Field teams were honored when the NESCAC released its 2012 All-NESCAC squads. Honors were based on their performances at the recent NESCAC Championship meet at Bates. Athletes finishing in the top three in each event were deemed All-NESCAC.
  • Track & Field Teams Both Third At NESCAC's

    The Middlebury College track and field teams both earned third place finishes at the 2012 NESCAC Championships hosted by Bates. Williams won the women’s title (180), followed by Tufts (159), Middlebury (157) and Bowdoin (99.5). The host school captured the men’s title with 156.25 points, followed by Tufts (146.25), Middlebury (124) and Williams (111.75). The Panthers won seven NESCAC crowns on the women’s side while taking home six in the men’s events.

    Bates College will serve as host to the 11 members of the conference for the 2012 edition of the NESCAC Track & Field Championships. Action gets underway this Saturday at the Russell Street Track complex in Lewiston, Maine, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and results of the day’s events will be posted at the conclusion of the meet on www.nescac.com.

    The Middlebury track and field teams hosted the Middlebury Invitational at the Dragone Track & Field Complex on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers battled the University of Vermont for the second time this week, with Middlebury having previously visited Burlington on Tuesday.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams were a part of the opening meet at the University of Vermont's new facility. The Catamounts hosted the event at the brand new Frank H. Livak Track & Field Facility. Sophomore Jason McCallum (San Diego, Calif.) picked up a pair of wins, capturing the 100 meters (10.95) and the long jump (21’10.5”).

    The Panther track and field teams competed in a meet at Dartmouth on Saturday with the host school, the University of Vermont and Brandeis. Middlebury won seven different events on the day, with several impressive finishes.

    Middlebury hosted the 2012 Panther Invitational Saturday at the Dragone Track & Field Complex. Middlebury won the women's event with 147 points, followed by Bowdoin (138) and Springfield (109). The Polar Bears (157) captured the men's meet, with the Panthers (137) and Pride (117) following.

    Middlebury College track and field athlete Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) has been named the NESCAC Female Athlete of the Week. Cramer was a double-winner at the Point Loma Nazarene Invitational on Saturday, as she finished first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:06.79) and also won the 800-meter run, taking the event in a time of 2:16.01.
  • Spring Track Season Opens In California

    The Middlebury College track and field teams began their spring season with annual meets at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. In a full meet on the 24th, the Panther women were first among 10 teams, while the men placed third.
  • Hebble Honored By NESCAC

    Middlebury College track and field athlete Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Male Player of the Week. Hebble headlined four Panther runners among the top five finishers in the 1,500-meter run at the Point Loma Nazarene Collegiate Open on Saturday. Hebble completed the race in 3:58.49, winning the race by a margin of four-tenths of a second.
  • Cramer Is N.E. Region Athlete Of The Year - Wilkerson Honored

    Middlebury College indoor track athlete Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) has been named the New England Region athlete of the year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The senior recently was part of the school’s NCAA Championship DMR relay team, while earning All-American honors in the mile.

    The Panther indoor track teams The Middlebury College indoor track teams took part in the 2012 ECAC Indoor Championships hosted by Rutgers-Newark. The Panthers came away with a pair of ECAC Champions at the event, with senior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) capturing the mile in 4:51.28. Joining her was junior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.), who won the title by setting a new school record with a time of 2:11.70 in the 800.

    The Panther indoor track teams competed at the Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday. Both DMR relay teams continued to impress, breaking their own school records at the meet that was comprised of Division I, II and III teams.

    The Middlebury College indoor track team continued its record-breaking season with more top performances at New England’s. The women competed at Smith and finished fifth among 22 teams, while the men were eighth among 24 squads in action at Springfield.

    The Middlebury College indoor track team sent a handful of athletes to Boston University to compete in the B.U. Valentines Meet. When the weekend had completed, five new school records had been set by the Panthers, including a nation’s best time of 11:40 in the women’s DMR.

    The Middlebury College indoor track teams took part in the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday afternoon. The men’s 4x200 relay team came away with a win (1:32.16), with senior Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) winning the 3,000 (8:36.47) and junior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) capturing the mile (5:02.16).
