  • Demers Is Nominee For Woman Of The Year

    Middlebury College women's soccer and track athlete Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.) has been nominated for the 2010 NCAA Woman of the Year Award by the NESCAC. The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service and leadership. The award has been given annually since 1991.
  • Davies Earns All-American Honors

    Middlebury College track athlete Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) has earned All-American honors at the NCAA Championships hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College in Ohio. The first-year racer achieved the honor with an eighth place finish in the steeplechase, earning a school-record time of 9:07.56. He was the only rookie in the field, entering the race with the slowest seed time and he battled his way to a top eight finish.
  • Cramer & Davies Headed To NCAA's

    Two members of the Middlebury College track and field teams have qualified for the upcoming NCAA Championships. The events take place from May 27-29 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. Sophomore Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) has qualified in the 1500, while first-year racer Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) will compete in the steeplechase.

    The Panther track and field teams took part in the ECAC Championships hosted by Springfield College. Sophomore Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) won the ECAC Championship in the 5,000, finishing with a time of 14:52. Middlebury boasted three other All-ECAC athletes, with top eight finishers earning the honor.
  • Track Teams In Action At Open N.E.'s

    The Panther track and field teams took part in the Open New England Championships hosted by Northeastern over the weekend. Teams from Division I, II and III competed, with the Middlebury women placing 31st among 39 scoring teams, while the men were 21st with 38 teams scoring.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams took part in the Division III New England Championships hosted by Tufts on Saturday. The Panther women finished in 10th place among 29 scoring teams, while the men were 12th with 25 teams scoring. Top eight finishers at the meet earned All-New England honors.

    The 2010 NESCAC Track & Field Championships take place this Saturday at the Dussault Track & Field complex on the campus of Tufts University. Williams College has won nine straight women's titles, and a 10th consecutive conference crown this weekend would be the 18th in program history for the Ephs.
  • Lee Is Performer Of The Week

    Middlebury College women's track athlete Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.) has been named the NESCAC Female Performer of the Week. Lee finished the 3-kilometer steeplechase at the Princeton Invitational in a time of 11:09.23, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA's. She was the top Division III runner in the event.
  • Track Athletes Compete

    The Panther track and field team saw its invitational meet cancelled over the weekend, but Middlebury did host the decathlon and heptathlon events. Sophomore Julia Sisson (Omaha, Neb.) won the women's heptathlon with 3210 points, while junior Adam Dede (West Chester, Ohio) captured the decathlon with 5097 points.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams were in action on Friday at the Dartmouth Invitational. Sophomore Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) broke the school record in the 1500 with a time of 3:56.54, while senior Laura Dalton (Simsbury, Conn.) (400H-1:04.05-2nd) and sophomore Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) (800-2:14.18-2nd) qualified for the NCAA's.

    The Middlebury track & field teams opened up their home seasons with a meet against Springfield, Bowdoin and Vermont on a beautiful day at the Dragone Track & Field Complex. Springfield won the event, with the Middlebury women placing second and the men third. Eight different Middlebury athletes won events, along with a relay team.
  • Cramer Honored By The NESCAC

    Middlebury College women's track athlete Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) has been named the NESCAC Female Performer of the Week. Cramer won the 1,500-meter run at the Point Loma Invitational in a time of 4:37.2. She was also second in the 800-meter event, recording a time of 2:16.08. The Panthers finished fourth at the 16-team invitational with 251.50 points.

    The Middlebury College track and field teams opened up their spring seasons with a meet at Pt. Loma Nazarene University in California. Sophomore Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) won the 1500 in 4:39.52, while junior Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.) captured the steeplechase (11:35.76). Sophomore Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) set a new school record for the men with a third place finish in the 1500 (3:58.25).
  • Women's DMR Team Earns All-American Honors

    The Middlebury College distance medley relay team has earned All-American honors at the 2010 Indoor Track Championship. The events were held at the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center on the campus of Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana.

    Five members of the Middlebury College Indoor Track Teams will take part in the 2010 NCAA Championships on March 12th & 13th. The event is taking place at the James A. Hollensteiner Track on the campus of DePauw University in Indiana. First-year athlete Juliet Ryan-Davies will compete in the 800, while senior Anjuli Demers, junior Kaitlyn Saldanha and sophomores Rebecca Fanning and Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) will race in the DMR.

    The Panther indoor track teams sent athletes to the ECAC Championships at Smith College over the weekend. Winning the ECAC Championship was the women's DMR team, who finished with a time of 11:59.40, setting a new school record.

    The Middlebury College indoor track teams were in action at the Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University over the weekend. The meet featured teams from Division I, II and III from around New England, with 11 Panthers earning All-New England honors.

    The Panther indoor track teams competed at the New England Championships last weekend. The women were in action at the University of Southern Maine, placing seventh overall among 25 scoring teams. The men competed at Bates, placing 15th among 21 scoring schools in action. All athletes placing in the top eight earn All-New England honors.

    The Middlebury College indoor track teams were in action over the weekend, competing with several schools in races held at Dartmouth. Earning top five finishes for the Panthers were senior Alexandra Krieg (Wellesley, Mass.) in the 5000 (4th – 10:33.67) and rookie Danielle Baker (Glastonbury, Conn.) in the pole vault (5th - 10’).

The women's 4x400 relay team comprised of senior Anjuli Demers (Dracut, Mass.), sophomore Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.) and rookies Molly McLean (East Islip, N.Y.) and Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) set a new school record with a second place finish (4:10.34).
