Middlebury Competes At Wesleyan

The Middlebury College indoor track teams were in action in Connecticut over the weekend, taking part in the Wesleyan Invitational.

In the 55-meter race, first-year racer Jen Katz (Winchester, Mass.) broke the school record with a time of 7.55 seconds in the qualifying race. She ended with a time of 7.57, placing second overall in the final. Katz also placed second in the 200 with a time of 27.45

Winning the 400 was rookie Simone Weisman (Newton, Mass.) with a time of 1:04.11, while classmate Emily Coles (Slingerlands, N.Y.) won the 55 hurdles in 8.94. Ending in a first place tie by clearing 10' in the pole vault were junior Meira Lifson (Edina, Minn.) and first-year athlete Emer Feighery (Westborough, Mass.). Finishing second in the 1000 with a time of 3:13.43 was junior Kara Plunkett (Topsfield, Mass.), while rookie Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) placed second in the 55 hurdles with a time of 8.98.

Winning the shot put for the men was Pascal Losambe (S. Burlington, Vt.), who had a winning throw of 47'7". Placing second in the 600 with a time of 1:25.93 was sophomore Patrick Swan (Horseheads, N.Y.).
