The Middlebury College track and field teams hosted the Panther Invitational on Saturday, with Bowdoin and New England College visiting Vermont.
First-year racer Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) won three events on the day, breaking the school record with a leap of 35'11.5" in the triple jump. She also won the long jump with a 17'2.75" mark, while capturing the 100 with a time of 12.48. First-year racer Jen Katz (Winchester, Mass.) was a dual event winner, capturing the 100 in 12.48 and the 200 in 26.14. Rookie Kelley Coughlan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) also broke the school record in the triple jump, finishing second to Brenes with a leap of 35'6".
Junior Andrea Giddings (S. Portland, Maine) was another record-breaker on Saturday, setting a new school and Dragone Track record with a time of 11:32.78 in the steeplechase. The Panther 4x100 relay team comprised of Brenes, Katz, sophomore Lizz Huntley (Coralville, Iowa) and first-year racer Emily Coles (Slingerlands, N.Y.) set a new school record with a first place finish in 49:87.
Senior Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) paced the men's team, winning the 200 in 22.91 and the 400 hurdles in 53.45.
