  • Panthers Make Grade With ITA All-Academic Awards

    Led by seven Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes, the Middlebury women's tennis team earned a 2015 ITA All-Academic Award for their hard work in the classroom.
  • Gerger, Bondy Named ITA Division III All-Americans

    Two Middlebury women's tennis players were named All-Americans when the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its honorees. Junior Ria Gerger (Houston, Texas) was recognized in singles for the third-consecutive year and doubles for the first time, while her doubles partner sophomore Lily Bondy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) notched her first career accolade.
  • Spring NESCAC Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced its Spring All-Sportsmanship Team for each spring sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.
  • Spring NESCAC Academic Team Released

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2014-15 Spring All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.35. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury’s 89 representatives.

    Middlebury women's tennis player Ria Gerger fell during her quarterfinal match on day two of the NCAA Singles Tournament on Friday. Matches took place at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio and the tournament was hosted by Ohio Northern University and the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
  • Gerger Advances to Third-Straight NCAA Singles Quarterfinals

    Two members of the Middlebury women's tennis team participated in day one of the NCAA Singles Tournament on Thursday, highlighted by Ria Gerger advancing to the quarterfinal round. Matches are being held at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio and hosted by Ohio Northern University and the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
  • Middlebury Women’s Tennis Falls in NCAA Quarters to Emory

    The sixth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team fell in the NCAA Quarterfinals by a 5-1 score to second-ranked Emory in Mason, Ohio. The Panthers finish their season with an 11-7 record, while the Eagles will play the winner of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Carnegie Mellon in Tuesday’s national semifinal.
  • Women's Tennis Makes NCAA Quarterfinal Appearance

    The Middlebury College women’s tennis team will make its second NCAA Quarterfinal appearance in the last three years when it plays Emory in the quarterfinals on Monday, May 18 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio. The event is hosted by Ohio Northern University and the Warren County Convention & Visitors Bureau. The Panthers are making their 12th tournament appearance in the last 13 years.
  • Women’s Tennis Posts Regional Final Comeback Victory, Advances to NCAA Quarters

    The Middlebury women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the second time in three years and fourth time overall with a 5-4 win at Bowdoin in an NCAA Regional final match-up. The Panthers (11-6) will play Emory in the quarterfinals on Monday, May 18 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio, while Bowdoin wraps up its season at 14-6.
  • Women's Tennis Blanks Simmons, Advances to NCAA Regional Final

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team advanced to the NCAA Regional Final after a 5-0 win over Simmons (17-5) in a match played at Bowdoin. The Panthers (10-6) will take on the host school Sunday at noon with a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals on the line.
  • Three Panther Women Garner All-NESCAC Accolades

    Three members of the Middlebury College women’s tennis team were honored when the NESCAC recently announced its all-conference teams. Junior Ria Gerger (Houston, Texas) earned first-team all-conference honors for her singles play, while sophomore Alexandra Fields (Coral Gables, Fla.) notched second-team accolades. Sophomore Lily Bondy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) along with Gerger garnered second-team laurels as a doubles tandem. The sixth-ranked Panthers are preparing for an NCAA Regional this weekend at Bowdoin.
  • Women's Tennis Visits Bowdoin for NCAA Regional

    The Middlebury College women's tennis team will make its 12th trip to the NCAA Tournament in the last 13 years when it travels to Bowdoin for an NCAA Regional from May 8-10. Middlebury will take on the winner of the Simmons/Plymouth State match on Saturday, May 10, while Bowdoin meets the Ithaca/Staten Island winner. First-round matches will take place Friday, while the winners meet in the regional final on Sunday.
  • Women's Tennis Edged By Amherst In NESCAC Semifinals

    Third-seeded Amherst advanced to the NESCAC Championship with a 5-4 win over second-seeded Middlebury (9-6) on Proctor Courts at Middlebury College. The Ephs will take on the winner of the Williams in the title match at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Middlebury Hosts Women’s Tennis NESCAC Championship Weekend

    Middlebury is set to host the 2015 NESCAC Women's Tennis Championship this weekend at the Proctor Tennis Courts. Competition gets underway Friday, May 1 with first-round matches featuring Trinity against Amherst and Wesleyan versus Bowdoin. Teams that advance out of the opening round will face No. 1 Williams and No. 2 Middlebury in the second round on Saturday, May 2. The NESCAC Women's Tennis Championship concludes on Sunday, May 3 with action beginning at 1:00 p.m.
  • #8 Women's Tennis Posts Key 5-4 NESCAC Win Over #3 Amherst

    The Middlebury women's tennis team, ranked eighth nationally, earned a narrow 5-4 home victory over third-ranked Amherst in its final regular season match at Proctor Tennis Courts. The Panthers (9-5, 5-2) will return to the court when they play host to the NESCAC Championship next Friday through Sunday.

    Following a brief two-match losing streak, the eighth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team got back to its winning ways Sunday with a 9-0 road NESCAC victory over Bates (4-10, 1-5) in Maine. The Panthers (8-5, 3-2) conclude the regular-season portion of their schedule when they host third-ranked Amherst on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

    Playing for the first time in a week, the eighth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team fell to #10 Bowdoin by a score of 7-2 in a NESCAC match played outdoors on Pickard Tennis Courts in Brunswick, Maine. The Panthers (7-5, 2-2) stay in Maine and return to the courts Sunday with a 10:00 a.m. conference match against Bates.

    In a battle of top-10 nationally-ranked opponents, the eighth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team fell to #1 Williams by a score of 7-2 in a NESCAC match played outdoors on Middlebury's Proctor Tennis Courts. The Panthers (7-4, 2-1) will have a week off before they return to the court next Saturday on the road at 10th-ranked Bowdoin beginning at 10:00 a.m.

    On the heels of a road victory Saturday, the ninth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team remained perfect in NESCAC action with a 5-0 victory Sunday over visiting Connecticut College in a match played to decision inside Duke Nelson Arena. The Panthers (7-3, 2-0) will next take to the court next weekend when they entertain #3 Williams on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Wheaton (Mass.) on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.

The Panthers return to action when they come home for a match on Sunday against Connecticut College at 1:00 p.m.

    The ninth-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team concluded its spring trip to California with an impressive 6-3 victory over #7 Pomona-Pitzer at the Pauley Tennis Complex in Claremont, California. The Panthers end their trip with a 5-3 record having played a nationally-ranked opponent in all five matches out west. Middlebury returns to the court next Saturday with a match at Hamilton beginning at 10:00 a.m.
  • Singles Play Leads #9 Middlebury Past 15th-Ranked Chicago

    The Middlebury women's tennis team, who moved up one spot to ninth in the ITA’s national poll released Thursday, was victorious over #15 University of Chicago by a 6-3 score during its spring break trip to California at the Claremont Club. The Panthers (4-3) have a day off before completing their trip to the west coast Saturday with a match against seventh-ranked Pomona-Pitzer at 1:00 p.m.

    The Middlebury women's tennis team, ranked 10th in Division III, fell to Azusa Pacific, the #17 team in Division II, by a 6-3 score during its spring break trip to California at the Burrelson Tennis Center. The Panthers (3-3) return to the court Thursday with a match against 13th-ranked Chicago in a contest set to be played in Claremont at 3:00 p.m.
  • #10 Women’s Tennis Drops Narrow 5-4 Decision to UC San Diego

    The Middlebury women's tennis team, ranked 10th in Division III, fell to UC San Diego, the #15 team in Division II, by a narrow 5-4 score during its spring break trip to California at the Northview Tennis Courts. The Panthers (3-2) return to the court Wednesday with another match against a ranked Division II opponent in #17 Azusa Pacific at 4:30 p.m.
  • Women’s Tennis Begins Spring Break Trip With 7-2 Loss to #5 CMS

    The 10th-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team began its annual spring break trip to California with a 7-2 loss Saturday afternoon to host and fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. The Panthers will have a few days off before they return to the court Tuesday with a match at UC-San Diego at 2:00 p.m.

    Following a pair of road victories Saturday, the 10th-ranked Middlebury women's tennis team continued its hot start to the spring schedule, opening its home portion with a 9-0 victory over Brandeis. The Panthers (3-0) will next take to the court for five matches in California during its spring break trip, starting with a match against fifth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps next Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
  • 10th-Ranked Women’s Tennis Nets Pair of Road Victories to Begin Spring

    The Middlebury women's tennis team, ranked #10 nationally, opened up its spring season with a pair of road victories over Skidmore and Rensselaer on Saturday. The Panthers opened with an 8-1 win over the 20th-ranked Thoroughbreds, before blanking Rensselaer 9-0. Middlebury will open its spring home schedule with a 1:00 p.m. match on Sunday against #26 Brandeis.
  • Women's Tennis Ends Fall Season at NEWITT

    The Middlebury women's tennis team ended its fall season sending players to compete at the New England Women's Intercollegiate Tennis Tournament. The event took place at Mt. Holyoke with four brackets contested. Duos from respective schools would play two singles and one doubles match against each other, with the winners advancing to the next round.
  • Women's Tennis Fares Well During Its Own Invitational

    The three-day Middlebury Invitational Women’s Tennis Tournament featured a quartet of teams that played a form of hidden duals from Friday through Sunday. Action took place inside both the Nelson Recreational Center as well as the Middlebury Indoor Tennis facility. Teams competing in the invitational were Middlebury, Williams, Case Western Reserve and Army. The Panthers will have nearly two weeks off from play until they take part in the NEWITT Invitational hosted by Mt. Holyoke from October 17-19.
