  • Tennis Teams & Athletes Earn ITA Academic Honors

    The Middlebury College men’s and women’s tennis team have both earned the ITA All-Academic Team Award. The honor is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). 
  • Middlebury To Host Summer ITA Event
    July 21, 2012
    Middlebury College is hosting its first Summer ITA Tennis Tournament. Students from 22 Colleges and Universities will be competing in this year’s event, as well as high school players from across the region.
  • Women's Tennis All-Americans - Leung Is Rookie of the Year, Morgan Is Coach of the Year

    Three members of the Middlebury College women's tennis team were named All-Americans when the ITA announced the honors. Junior Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) and rookie Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) were named in singles play, while Kepping and junior Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.) earned the honor in doubles. In addition, Leung was named the ITA National Rookie of the Year, while head coach Mike Morgan was named the ITA National Coach of the Year.
  • Leung Falls In NCAA Title Match

    Lok-Sze Leung saw her hopes of an NCAA Singles Championship come up one match short, falling in the title match at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. The Panther rookie was defeated 6-2, 7-6 (1) by Gabrielle Clark of Emory in the title match. The win avenged a loss for Clark, who was defeated by Leung 6-2, 6-3 back on April 13th. Leung finishes up a stellar rookie season with a record of 34-3.
  • Leung Advances To NCAA Title Match

    Middlebury College rookie Lok-Sze Leung has advanced to the title match at the 2012 NCAA Division III women’s tennis singles championship at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. She will take on Gabbie Clark of Emory  on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. in the championship match. The two met back on April 13th with Leung picking up a 6-2, 6-3 win.
  • Day One Complete At NCAA Women's Tennis

    Day one is complete at the NCAA singles and doubles portion of the NCAA Tennis Championships at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. First-year player Lok-Sze Leung won the first set of her opening match 6-0 before Jamie Solomon of Pomona-Pitzer retired in the second set trailing 2-1. Leung then defeated Jordan Wylie of Emory 6-3, 6-4 to advance to Friday’s quarterfinal round.
  • Women's Tennis Players Bound For NCAA's

    Middlebury College women's tennis players Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.), Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) and Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) will represent the team at the 2012 NCAA Individual Championships. Leung and Kepping will play in the 32-person singles bracket, while Faber and Kepping will take part in the 16-team doubles event. Matches begin on Thursday, May 24th with matches taking place at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.
  • Bowdoin Knocks Off Women's Tennis In Regional Final

    Bowdoin came back from a 4-1 deficit to defeat Middlebury 5-4 to win an NCAA Women’s Tennis Regional in Middlebury, Vermont. The Polar Bears (13-8) will take on Emory in the national quarterfinals on Monday, May 21st in Cary, N.C. The Panthers finish their season with a record of 15-4.
  • Women's Tennis Advances To NCAA Regional Final

    Middlebury advanced to the NCAA Regional finals by quickly dispatching Ithaca, 5-0. The Panthers (15-3) will take on the winner of the Bowdoin/Wellesley match in the NCAA Regional finals on Sunday at noon.
  • All-NESCAC Women's Tennis - Leung Is Player And Rookie Of The Year

    Five members of the Middlebury College women's tennis team have earned NESCAC post-season honors. First-year player Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) has been named the NESCAC Player and Rookie of the Year as well as a first-team singles and second-team doubles selection. Juniors Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) also earned a spot on the first-team as a doubles pair. Earning second-team honors in singles were senior Victoria Aiello (Milton, Mass.) and Kepping, while senior Anna Burke (Summit, N.J.) joined Leung as a second-team doubles pair.

  • Women's Tennis Falls In NESCAC Semis

    Middlebury battled back but came up short, falling 5-3 to Amherst in a NESCAC semifinal contest at Williams. The Panthers fall to 14-3 on the year, while the Jeffs improve to 14-3, as they prepare to battle Williams for the conference title on Sunday morning.
  • Women's Tennis Advances To NESCAC Semifinals

    Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC semifinals with a 6-0 win over Trinity in a first-round match played at Williams. The Panthers will take on Amherst on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. with the winner advancing to Sunday’s title match. Middlebury improved to 14-2 on the year, while Trinity falls to 10-6.
  • Women's Tennis Looks For NESCAC Crown

    The Panther women's tennis team will look for its first NESCAC Championship this weekend in the six-team tourney at Williams. Action gets underway this Friday with first round matches featuring Tufts against Bowdoin and Trinity versus Middlebury. Teams that advance out of the opening round will face top-seeded Williams and second-seeded Amherst in the semifinals on Saturday, May 5.
  • Women's Tennis Drops Tight Match At Amherst

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team ended its regular season with a 5-4 loss at #3 Amherst on Sunday afternoon. The seventh-ranked Panthers fall to 13-2 on the season, while the Jeffs improve to 13-3. Middlebury fell in a big hole early, dropping all three doubles matches with tight competition throughout. The Panthers took four of six singles matches, but could not overcome the Jeffs.
  • Women's Tennis Tops Tufts

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team picked up a NESCAC win over Tufts on Saturday, topping the 13th-ranked Jumbos (7-9), 7-2. The Panthers improve to 12-1 overall, while the Jumbos drop their fourth straight match, losing to #10 Bowdoin, #1 Williams, #3 Amherst and #7 Middlebury.
  • Women's Tennis With Non-League Win At Skidmore

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team improved to 12-1 overall with a 7-2 non-league win at Skidmore on Saturday. The seventh-ranked Panthers return to action on Saturday when they host Tufts. Middlebury took two of three doubles matches before winning in straight sets in five of six singles contests.
  • Women's Tennis Suffers First Loss

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season, falling at top-ranked Williams by a score of 6-3. The match, which started outside and moved inside due to darkness, took just over six and a half hours to complete. The seventh-ranked Panthers fall to 11-1 on the season while the Ephs moved to 14-1.
  • Women's Tennis Earns Another Win

    The Middlebury women's tennis team picked up its second win in as many days as the seventh-ranked Panthers earned an 8-1 win over 10th-ranked Bowdoin. The Panthers remain undefeated at 11-0, 3-0 in the league, while the Polar Bears fall to 6-5, 2-1 in NESCAC play.

    The Middlebury women's tennis team picked a big victory at home on Friday, topping #2 Emory (10-4) by a score of 5-4. The seventh-ranked Panthers remain undefeated on the season, improving to a perfect 10-0 as they prepare to host Bowdoin on Saturday.
  • Women's Tennis Reamains Unbeaten

    The Middlebury College women’s tennis team, ranked seventh in the nation, posted a 9-0 victory against Connecticut College in NESCAC matches played on the South Tennis Courts Friday. The Panther women remain undefeated at 9-0 with a 2-0 mark in league action. The Camel women are 4-8. 
  • Women's Tennis Ends Spring Break Undefeated

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team improved to 8-0 on the season with two more wins on the west coast. The #7 Panthers wrapped up their spring break with a 9-0 win over #15 Pomona, before sweeping #30 Linfield, 9-0.
  • Women's Tennis Earns Three More Wins

    The Middlebury women’s tennis team improved to 6-0 on the season with three victories in California over spring break. The ninth-ranked Panthers opened with an 8-1 win over Vanguard, before topping eight-ranked Claremont, 5-3. Middlebury came back the next day to earn a 5-4 win over Azusa Pacific.
  • Women's Tennis Wins Three To Open Spring

    The Panther women’s tennis team opened up its spring season by hosting three matches indoors over the weekend. Middlebury is currently ranked 10th nationally as they open spring play, returning to action on their annual spring break trip on March 23rd.
  • Women's Tennis Competes At NEWITTs

    The Middlebury women's tennis team ended its fall season at the 2011 NEWITT Championships hosted by Mount Holyoke. Duos played a doubles match and then head-to-head singles matches against the same pairs at the event.
  • Leung Wins ITA National Singles Title

    Middebury women's tennis player Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) has won the Division III ITA National Small College Tennis Championship. Matches took place at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Alabama. The Panther rookie defeated Gabrielle Clark of Emory in the finals 6-3, 6-2.
  • Gail Smith Doubles Tourney Hosted on Campus

    The Middlebury College women's tennis team hosted the fifth annual Gail Smith Doubles Tournament on campus. Thirty doubles teams from eight different schools competed in the tournament, honoring long-time Middlebury coach and administrator Gail Smith. Women's duos from Amherst, Bowdoin, Brandeis, Middlebury, Rochester, Skidmore, St. Lawrence and Trinity took part in the tournament, as well as some open duos.
  • Leung Wins ITA Title

    Middlebury first-year player Lok-Sze Leung captured the singles title at the USTA/ITA Division III Women's New England Regional Championship on Sunday, as the three-day tournament concluded at Bates College.
  • Women's Tennis Competes At Harvard

    The Middlebury College women's tennis team was in action over the weekend at the Harvard Fall Classic. The Panthers competed against all Division I teams with some impressive success.  Rookie Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) won the “C” singles flight, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over her opponent from UMass. in the finals.
