Foley was hired in the summer of 2019 and is in her first year as an assistant coach for the swimming & diving programs as well as the assistant director of the college’s natatorium. She came to Middlebury after graduating from Kenyon College in May with a degree in psychology. Foley has previous coaching experience at Kenyon’s Total Performance Swim Camp as well as at the Nittany Lion Aquatic Club and Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA in Pennsylvania.
Foley was a backstroke, freestyle and individual medley specialist for the Ladies over her four years, serving as a team captain during her senior year. She qualified for the NCAA Championships each winter, helping Kenyon earn runner-up team finishes on three occasions and a third-place effort the other year. Foley posted six All-American laurels during her career competing in the 100 and 200 backstroke events, while swimming the opening leg of the victorious 400 medley relay at the 2018 NCAA Championships. That mark of 3:39.95 is a Kenyon program record in the event.
In the classroom, Foley was a four-time College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Academic All-American.
Prior to Kenyon, she attended Lewisburg Area High School where she was a Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) District IV Champion in the both the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley during all four years. She was a six-time PIAA All-State Team honoree, given to the top-eight finishers in each event, as well as a two-time PIAA All-State Honorable Mention (top 16) recipient.
