Middlebury to Host NCAA Diving Regionals This Weekend

The Middlebury men's and women's swimming and diving teams will serve as the hosts of the 2018 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regionals this weekend in the Middlebury Natatorium.  The two-day regional gets underway on Friday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. and continues on Saturday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m.

A total of 28 women and 23 men from 21 schools across the region will be competing this weekend. They are vying for a spot at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships, March 21-24, 2018 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In order to qualify for the regional, divers must have achieved the NCAA standard on the same board at least twice during the regular season or once at the conference championship on either board.

Senior Elissa DeNunzio (Darien, Conn.) will represent the Panther women, while sophomore Mike Chirico (Dover, Mass.) will dive for the men. Chirico was recently named an All-NESCAC selection in both boards during the conference meet, while DeNunzio was honored as the Four-Year High-Point diver.

You may watch all four sessions on Middlebury's Northeast Sports Network (NSN) video page HERE. If live results become available, they may be found HERE.
