  • Panthers Compete in Three Events On Final Day of NCAA Meet

    The Middlebury swimming & diving teams concluded competition on Saturday at the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day meet took place at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana, with Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation serving as the hosts. As a team, the Panther women scored 8.5 points during the meet to finish 37th out of 51 scoring teams.
  • Solid Finishes By Gomez & Chirico Highlight Day Three of NCAA Meet

    Maya Gomez swam to 11th place in the 100-yard breaststroke and Mike Chirico finished 13th in the men’s 1-meter diving event during day three of the 2018 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day meet is taking place at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana, with Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation serving as the hosts. The final day of competition begins Saturday with preliminaries at 10:00 a.m., while the finals are slated for 6:00 p.m.

  • NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2017-18 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.40. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 147 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions
  • NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team Announced

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team for each winter sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.

    Middlebury women's diver Elissa DeNunzio wrapped up her season on day two of the 2018 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regional. The event was hosted by the Panthers inside the Middlebury Natatorium.

  • Middlebury to Host NCAA Diving Regionals This Weekend

    The Middlebury men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will serve as the hosts of the 2018 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regionals this weekend in the Middlebury Natatorium.  The two-day regional gets underway on Friday, March 2 at 2:00 p.m. and continues on Saturday, March 3 at 12:00 p.m.
  • Three Panther Women Earn All-NESCAC Accolades

    Three members of the Middlebury College women's swimming & diving team have been awarded All-NESCAC laurels. Sophomores Maya Gomez (Madison, Wis.) and Frances VanderMeer (Elmira, N.Y.) each picked up all-conference accolades, given to the top-three finishers in each event during the 2018 NESCAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Williams in the Samuelson-Muir Pool. Senior diver Elissa DeNunzio (Darien, Conn.) was also named the Four-Year High Points Diver by the league.
  • Panther Women Finish Seventh at NESCAC Championship

    Middlebury finished in seventh place overall at the 2018 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Williams in the Samuelson-Muir Pool. The Ephs captured their fifth-consecutive title, amassing 1,971 points during the three-day meet. Amherst ended up in second place with 1,615 points, followed by Connecticut College (1.060.5) in the third spot. The Panthers accumulated 826 points over the course of the meet.
  • Gomez’s School-Record Swim Highlights Day Two of NESCAC Meet

    Behind a school-record performance from Maya Gomez, Middlebury remained in seventh place following the second day of the 2018 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship held at Williams’ Samuelson-Muir Pool. The Ephs increased their lead in the team standings with a two-day total of 1,376 points, while Amherst sits in second place with 1,150 points and Connecticut College (844.5) remains in third. Middlebury has racked up 554 points through the first two days of competition.
  • Gomez’s Win, VanderMeer’s Record Highlight Day One of NESCAC Meet

    Aided by a school-record performance from Frances VanderMeer and a victory by Maya Gomez during day one of the 2018 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship, Middlebury sits in seventh place among 11 teams competing. The three-day event is being hosted Williams in the Samuelson-Muir Pool. The Ephs lead the way with 687 points, while Amherst (617) and Connecticut College (456.5) round out the top three. The Panthers scored 301 points during Friday’s action.
  • Panther Women’s Swimming & Diving Eyes NESCAC Title

    Middlebury will look to challenge for a conference title when the 2018 NESCAC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships begin on Friday, February 16, with preliminary heats in the morning followed by championship races in the evening. This year's three-day championship will take place at Samuelson-Muir Pool on the campus of Williams College.
  • Panther Swimming & Diving Hosts Annual Middlebury Invitational

    The Middlebury swimming and diving teams hosted the two-day Middlebury Invitational on Friday and Saturday inside the natatorium. The event featured no team scores as Williams, Springfield, Tufts and the University of Vermont took part in the meet, along with the Panthers. Middlebury will have a couple weeks off from competition before hitting the pool for the NESCAC Championships. The women's meet will take place February 16-18 at Williams, while the men's championship is February 23-25 at Bowdoin.
  • Swimming & Diving Competes Against Williams, Hamilton
    January 27, 2018
    The Panther swimming and diving teams concluded their dual meet portion of the schedule with a tri-meet against Hamilton and Williams in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The Middlebury women defeated the Continentals by a score of 209.5-84.5, but fell to the sixth-ranked Ephs 177-114, while the men best Hamilton 206-78 and were defeated by #17 Williams 189-94. Middlebury returns to action Friday and Saturday when it hosts the annual Middlebury Invitational. Action will begin on Friday at 5:30 p.m. while Saturday's events are scheduled to start at 10:00 a.m.
  • Panthers Cruise Past Union in Home Meet

    The Panther swimming and diving teams got back on the winning track with home dual meet wins Saturday afternoon over Union. The men eased past the visiting Dutchmen by a 198-75 score, while the women cruised over the Dutchwomen, 205-74. Middlebury returns to action next Saturday when it travels to Williams for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet with the Ephs.
  • Panthers Conclude Road Weekend With Meet at Bates
    January 14, 2018
    The Panther swimming and diving teams wrapped up their first weekend of the second semester with a road meet at Bates. The women fell to the 21st-ranked Bobcats by a 152.5-141.5 score, while the men were defeated 170-118. Middlebury returns to action Saturday when it hosts Union for a meet starting at 2:00 p.m.
  • Swimming & Diving Teams Begin Second Semesters With Meet at Colby
    January 13, 2018
    The Panther swimming and diving teams opened their second semesters with a road meet on Saturday afternoon at Colby. The women were victorious by a 202-96 score, while the men fell by a 183-111 count. Middlebury returns to action Sunday with a road meet at Bates scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
  • Panther Swimming & Diving Sweeps Springfield
    December 09, 2017
    The Panther swimming and diving teams concluded the first semester by hosting a dual meet on Saturday with Springfield. The men cruised by a 178-116 score for their first win of the season, while the women edged the Pride, 153-146. The Panthers take a break for the holidays before returning to action on Saturday, January 13, when they travel to Colby for a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
  • Saturday’s Swimming & Diving Meet to Serve as Green Dot Event

    Middlebury’s swimming & diving dual meet against Springfield on Saturday will serve as a Green Dot event. The Panther program is the third Middlebury varsity sport, joining softball and football in becoming an official Green Dot team, each having completed team training sessions.
  • Panthers Travel to NESCAC Foe Amherst for Dual Meet
    December 02, 2017
    The Panther swimming and diving teams returned to action at Amherst on Saturday with events taking place at Pratt Pool. The women fell by a 167-122 count to 11th-ranked Amherst, while the men were defeated by the 16th-ranked Mammoths 165-102. Middlebury will complete first-semester competition next Saturday when it hosts Springfield in a dual meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Ends Opening Weekend With Meet Against Tufts
    November 19, 2017
    The Middlebury swimming and diving teams ended their respective opening weekends with a home dual meet Sunday against Tufts. The women fell to the Jumbos by a narrow 155-134 count, while the men were defeated 175-100. The Panthers return to the pool on Saturday, December 2 when they take to the road for the first time this season in a dual meet at Amherst.
  • Swim & Dive Teams Open Season With Meet Versus Conn. College
    November 18, 2017
    The Panther swimming and diving teams opened up their respective 2017-18 seasons with a home meet on Saturday against Connecticut College. The Middlebury women fell to the 10th-ranked Camels by a 191-103 tally, while the men were defeated, 176-104.
