  • Wahl Joins Swimming Coaching Staff

    Middlebury College has announced the hiring of Zack Wahl as an assistant swimming coach. Wahl comes to Middlebury from Union College, where he graduated in the spring of 2014 with a degree in biology and geology.
  • Schmidt To Head Middlebury Diving

    Kimberly (Kimi) Schmidt has been named the new diving coach at Middlebury College. She replaces Lisa Gibbs, who stepped down after 16 years of service to the program. Schmidt will serve under the direction of Panther head coach Bob Rueppel.
  • Hillas Finishes 16th in 200 Breaststroke During Final Day of NCAA Meet

    Middlebury junior Jamie Hillas finished in 16th place during the 200 breaststroke Saturday evening during the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day event was co-hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation in the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.
  • Hillas Breaks Own School Mark, Sixth in the 100 Breaststroke During NCAA Meet

    Middlebury junior Jamie Hillas broke her own school record twice and earned individual All-American honors with a sixth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke during the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day event is co-hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation in the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

    Middlebury senior Ian Mackay earned first-team All-American honors with his third-place finish in the 100 fly, highlighting the second day of the 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships.     The Middlebury women’s 200 medley relay earned All-American honors with a sixth-place finish, and lowered its school record in the morning during action Wednesday of the 2014 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. The four-day event is co-hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation in the IU Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

    Six members of the Middlebury College swimming and diving team will take part in the 2014 NCAA Championships from March 19-22. The championships are taking place at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be hosted by Franklin College and the Indiana Sports Corporation.
  • Harper Punches Second-Straight NCAA Championship Diving Ticket

    Following a pair of successful days on the diving board during the NCAA Division III Diving Regional at RPI in Robison Pool, Middlebury senior diver Colleen Harper punched her second-consecutive NCAA Championship ticket. Harper earned one of the region's seven at-large bids to the NCAA Championships with her combined performance at the event.

    Middlebury senior diver Colleen Harper will look to earn her second-consecutive NCAA Championship bid when she competes this weekend in the NCAA Division III Diving Regional at RPI in Robison Pool. The NCAA Division III Championship is slated to take place in Indianapolis from March 19th-22nd.

  • Koenigsberger Breaks Another School Record, Men’s Swimming & Diving Concludes NESCAC Championships

    For the third day in a row, Stephan Koenigsberger broke another school record as Middlebury finished seventh overall at the 2014 NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Bowdoin. Williams took home the title with 1,849 points, while Amherst (1,750), Connecticut College (1,468), Tufts (1,147) and the host Polar Bears (777.5) round out the top five. Bates was a close sixth with 777 points, while the Panthers racked up 739.

    Fueled by a school-record performance from Stephan Koenigsberger Saturday evening, Middlebury remains in seventh place following the second day of the 2014 NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Bowdoin. Williams continues to lead the way (1288.5), while Amherst (1196) and Connecticut College (1133) sit second and third. Tufts (763) and Bates (638) complete the top five, while Middlebury remains seventh (523).
  • Mackay Wins Two Events As Men’s Swimming & Diving Enjoys Record-Setting Opening Day of NESCAC Championships

    Led by a pair of event wins from Ian Mackay during the opening day of the 2014 NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championship, Middlebury sits in seventh place among 11 teams competing at the event hosted by Bowdoin in LeRoy Greason Pool. Williams leads the way with 636.5 points, while Amherst is second with 607 points. Connecticut College (566), Tufts (429 and Bates (349) round out the top five, while the Panthers are seventh (275).

    Middlebury will have its sights set on capturing the NESCAC crown this weekend when the 2014 NESCAC Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships get underway. The three-day meet, hosted by Bowdoin, begins on Friday, February 21 with preliminary heats in the morning and championship races in the evening in LeRoy Greason Pool.

    Middlebury finished third overall at the 2014 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Williams in Samuelson-Muir Pool. In a battle with Amherst for second and third place all evening, the Jeffs held on late in the evening to secure the second spot. The Ephs took home the title with 2,007 points, while Amherst (1,216.5) edged out the Panthers (1,207) for second. Bates (1,132) and Connecticut College (1,000.5) rounded out the top five.

    Fueled by another pair of school-record performances Saturday evening, Middlebury remains in second place following the second day of the 2014 NESCAC Women’s Swimming & Diving Championship hosted by Williams. The Ephs increased their lead on day two having racked up 1,341 points, while Middlebury (893), Amherst (875.5), Bates (838.5) and Connecticut College (802.5) round out the top five.

The host school leads the way with 663 points, while Middlebury (472.5), Amherst (451), Connecticut College (441) and Bates (414.5) round out the top five.

    Middlebury will look to challenge for a conference title when the 2014 NESCAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships begin on Friday, February 14, with preliminary heats in the morning followed by championship races in the evening. This year’s three-day championship will take place at Williams’ Samuelson-Muir Pool in Williamstown, Mass.

    The Middlebury College swimming and diving teams hosted the two-day Middlebury Invitational on Friday and Saturday inside the natatorium. The event featured no team scores with Williams, Amherst, Springfield, Tufts and the University of Vermont also taking part in the meet.
  • Swimming & Diving Falls at Williams

    The Panther swimming and diving teams fell to Williams on Saturday during a dual meet. The men fell to No. 6 nationally-ranked Ephs by a 197-101, while the women were defeated by the No. 5 hosts, 185-108. The Panthers return to action next Friday and Saturday when they host the Middlebury Invitational.
  • Hillas Lowers Own School Record as Women’s Swim Team Defeats Union, Men Fall

    Junior Jamie Hillas (Woodbridge, Conn.) lowered her school record time in the 200 breaststroke leading the Panther women's swimming and diving team to a 209-78 victory Saturday afternoon against Union. The men fell to the Dutchmen, 163.5-136.5. 
  • Swim Teams Earn Hard-Fought Home Victories Against Springfield

    The Panther swimming and diving teams competed at home for the first time in nearly two months with a dual meet against Springfield. The men (2-4) defeated the Pride by a 181.5-116.5 tally, while the women (3-3) edged out the visitors, 150-148.

    Middlebury women's swimming junior Jamie Hillas (Woodbridge, Conn.) and men’s swimming senior Ian Mackay (Vero Beach, Fla.) have been honored by CollegeSwimming.com for their respective performances in dual meets against Colby and Bates last weekend. The pair was named the Counsilman-Hunsaker National Division III Women's and Men’s Swimmers of the Week.

  • Swim Teams Sweep Colby, Fall At Bates

    The Middlebury swimming and diving teams opened up their second semester with a road meet at Colby. The women came away with a 183.5 to 103.5 win, while the men emerged with a 170-124 victory. The Panthers are back at it on Sunday, taking on Bates.
  • Swim Teams End Semester With Meet At Amherst

    The Middlebury swimming and diving teams ended their semester with a meet at Amherst. The men were defeated 183-100, while the women fell 183-111. The Panthers return to action on January 4th and 5th with meets at Colby and Bates. 
  • Swim Teams Host Tufts and Conn. To Open The Season

    The Panther swimming and diving teams opened up their 2013-14 seasons with a meet at home against Tufts and Connecticut College. The Middlebury women were edged by Conn. 148-140, while topping Tufts, 190-108. The men were defeated 189-99 by Conn. and 216-84 by the Jumbos.
