The #15 Middlebury women's squash team (2-7) fell at #17 Bates (9-3) on Thursday night in its first contest of a three-match road stretch. The teams traded the first six games, but the Bobcats picked up the final three to triumph 6-3. The Panthers return to action on Friday when they head to #21 Bowdoin for a 3:00 p.m. match.
Trailing 2-0, Gwen Davis bounced back to win three-straight and pick up the victory at #3 (13-15, 7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-7). Emily Beinkampen dropped just one game to earn the win at #5 (12-10, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8). In the sixth slot, Natasha Lowitt and her opponent traded the first four games (9-11, 13-11, 7-11, 11-7), before she won the fifth 11-6 to earn a point for the Panthers. The hosts won the remaining matches to earn the 6-3 victory.
