Middlebury women's squash players Beatrijs Kuijpers, Alexa Comai and Ideal Dowling each participated in the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships this weekend at the Nicol Squash Club in Providence, Rhode Island. Kuijpers went 1-1 and Comai was 1-2 in the Holleran Cup North bracket, while Dowling lost twice during Holleran Cup East play.
Squaring off with Brown's Isabella Kearns, Kuijpers advanced to the main draw quarterfinals by edging Kearns in three games (13-11, 11-9, 11-7). In the round of eight match, Kuijpers fell to Yale's Aishwarya Battacharya in three games (15-13, 11-6, 11-4) to conclude her season with a 10-10 record.
Comai dropped her opening match to George Washington's Engy Elmandouh in three games (13-11, 11-7, 11-3), but rebounded for a four-game triumph over Cornell's Hannah Schrel in the consolation quarterfinals (11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 13-11). On Saturday, she battled Virginia's Emily Woodward, before losing in five games (10-12, 11-8, 4-11, 11-6, 13-11). Comai ends her winter with a 13-9 record.
Matched up with the University of Pennsylvania's Jamila Turner in the round of 16, Dowling was defeated in three games (11-6, 11-8, 11-8). In the consolation draw, the first-year Panther fell to Stephanie Ryan of Drexel in four games (11-4, 5-11, 15-13, 11-6) to end her campaign with a 9-12 mark.
