Women's Squash Blanks Colby and Bowdoin In Maine

Middlebury ran its winning streak to four with a pair of 9-0 victories in women's squash action Saturday in Maine. The 15th-ranked Panthers opened play with a blanking at #22 Colby, followed by a win at Bowdoin. The Panthers (6-2) return to the court on Wednesday when they travel to second-ranked Trinity at 3:00 p.m.

In the win over the Mules (2-2), the Panthers didn't surrender a game. Victories by Natasha Lowitt at #9 (11-4, 11-1, 11-7), Alexa Comai in the third spot (11-6, 11-8, 11-7) and Emily Beinkampen at #6 (11-7, 11-4, 11-4) gave the Panthers a 3-0 lead.

Wins four through six came from Virginia Schaus at #5 (11-7, 13-11, 11-5), Lucy Bostwick in the second spot (14-12, 11-7, 11-4) and Natalie Madden at #4 (11-6, 11-7, 11-4). Beatrijs Kuijpers at #1 (11-4, 11-8, 11-5), Mira Chugh in the seventh position (11-4, 11-9, 11-5) and Lily Bogle at #8 (11-6, 11-9, 11-7) rounded out the scoring.

Against Bowdoin (4-4), Middlebury raced out to a 3-0 advantage behind wins from Lowitt at #9 (11-0, 11-0, 11-2), Beinkampen in the sixth spot (11-2, 11-5, 11-2) and Comai at #3 (7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-2).

The next four wins for the Panthers occurred in three games. Bogle eased past her opponent at #8 (11-2, 11-6, 11-1), while Schaus was victorious in the fifth spot (11-2, 11-5, 11-4). Madden made it three-straight wins with a victory at #4 (11-6, 11-8, 11-5), while Chugh surrendered just eight points in the seventh spot (11-4, 11-0, 11-4).

Bostwick tallied the eighth Panther point with a four-game win at #2 (11-7, 8-11, 11-, 11-4), while Kuijpers concluded the scoring at #1 with a three-game triumph (11-2, 11-8, 11-6).
