The Middlebury women's squash team increased its winning streak to three-straight matches with an 8-1 home victory Sunday over #26 Colby. The 15th-ranked Panthers return to the court Monday at 3:00 p.m. when they host 21st-ranked Hamilton.
In the victory against the Mules, the Panthers (3-2) tallied three-game victories in seven of the eight matches in which they earned a win. Triumphs came from Natasha Lowitt at #9 (11-0, 11-5, 11-3) and Alexa Comai in the third spot (11-6, 11-7, 11-4), while Audrey Ellen made it a 3-0 Middlebury lead with a four-game victory at #6 (11-6, 11-6, 7-11, 11-7).
Middlebury pushed its lead to 6-0 when Lucy Bostwick in the eighth spot (11-0, 11-1, 11-0), Mira Chugh, who recorded the clinching fifth team point at #5 (11-3, 14-12, 11-6) and Caroline Jahrling in the seventh position (11-3, 11-8, 11-8) eased past their respective opponents.
Devin Mullaney recorded the Mules' point with a four-game win at #2. Liddy Renner with a three-game victory in the fourth slot (11-5, 11-4, 11-6) and Beatrijs Kuijpers in three games at the top of the ladder (11-6, 11-7, 11-3) provided the Panthers' seventh and eighth team points, respectively.
