Hau, Pownall-Gray Compete in CSA Individual Championships

Middlebury women's squash players Tiffany Hau and Saskia Pownall-Gray participated in the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships at The Squash Club at Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut. Hau posted a 1-2 record in the Holleran Cup's 'D' bracket of 16 players, while Pownall-Gray was defeated twice in the 'C' bracket.

Hau squared off against Alexandra Toth of Princeton in her opening-round match, falling in three games (11-5, 11-4, 11-7). In her next match, Hau defeated Mount Holyoke's Brandy Williamson (8-11, 11-4, 12-10, 11-5) in four games during the consolation quarterfinals. Matched up with Victoria Arjoon of Bates in the semifinals, Hau lost in four games (11-9, 11-8, 8-11, 11-9).

During her first match, Pownall-Gray was defeated by Hedvika Suchankova of Dickinson in a marathon five-game match (10-12, 11-6, 11-5, 8-11, 11-7). Pownall-Gray saw her competition come to an end with a three-game defeat to George Washington's Abigail Shonrock (11-6, 11-8, 15-13).
