Middlebury women's squash players Charlotte Dewey and Saskia Pownall-Gray participated in the College Squash Association (CSA) Individual Championships hosted by Princeton University at the Jadwin Squash Courts. Dewey and Pownall-Gray were two of 48 players who looked to claim the title in the Holleran Cup bracket.
Dewey squared off against Stuart Lemay of Dickinson in her opening-round match and cruised in straight sets (11-1, 11-0, 11-1). In her next match, Dewey fell in four sets to George Washington's Alejandra Porras (12-10, 11-4, 3-11, 11-9).
In the second round consolation bracket, Dewey improved to 2-1 for the weekend with an 11-5, 11-1, 11-0 straight-set win over Bethany Simmonds of Haverford. Dewey concluded play with a four-set setback to Lydie McKenzie of Dartmouth by scores of 11-9, 9-11, 11-5, 15-13.
Receiving a first-round bye, Pownall-Gray was defeated by Hannah Hay-Smith of Brown in the round of 32 (11-9, 11-1, 12-14, 11-3). Pownall-Gray saw her competition come to an end with a straight-set defeat to Myriam Kelly of Bates (13-11, 11-8, 11-5).
