  • Leidt Receives NESCAC Honors For The Third Time

    Middlebury College women’s hockey player Madie Leidt (Killingworth, Ill.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the for the third time this season. The junior scored three goals and assisted on three others as the Panthers swept a pair of games from Williams, 4-0 and 3-1, to clinch the top seed for the upcoming NESCAC Championship.

    Middlebury wrapped up the home portion of the schedule with a 3-1 NESCAC victory over visiting Williams on Sunday. The second-ranked Panthers (17-2-3, 12-1-1) hit the road for the final weekend of the regular season with a pair of games at Bowdoin, while the Ephs (11-8-4, 8-6-2) host Plymouth State on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Middlebury (15-2-3, 10-1-1) returns to NESCAC play at home on Friday against Williams, while the Bantams (5-11-2, 0-10-2) are at Bowdoin with both contests starting at 7:00 p.m.

    Middlebury closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 2-2 overtime tie at #7 Norwich (15-4-2) on Tuesday. The second-ranked Panthers (13-2-3) return to NESCAC play this weekend hosting Trinity for a two-game series, with the opener set for Friday at 7:00 p.m.

    Middlebury broke open a scoreless game with a pair of second-period goals and used a 26-save shutout from Lin Han, as the Panthers netted a 3-0 road win at Hamilton (11-7-0, 5-5-0) on Saturday. Second-ranked Middlebury (13-2-2, 8-1-1) play its final non-conference game of the season on Tuesday, heading to seventh-ranked Norwich for a 7:00 p.m. faceoff against the Cadets.

    The Middlebury women’s hockey team suffered its first NESCAC loss of the season, falling by a score of 2-0 at Hamilton (11-6, 5-4) on Friday night. The second-ranked Panthers (12-2-2, 7-1-1) will face the Continentals again on Saturday, this time with a 3:00 p.m. faceoff.

    Second-ranked Middlebury saw its season-opening 12-game unbeaten streak come to an end, as top-ranked Plattsburgh State (18-1-0) picked up a 4-1 victory on Tuesday in Stafford Arena. Middlebury (10-1-2) was the last team in in the country to suffer a loss and the Cardinals salvaged a season split in the season series with the Panthers. Middlebury returns home this weekend for a pair of key NESCAC matchups against Colby, with the opening contest set for Friday at 7:00 p.m.

Middlebury (10-0-2, 5-0-1) puts its 12-game unbeaten streak on the line Tuesday, traveling to top-ranked Plattsburgh at 7:00 p.m.

    Knotted at 1-1 heading into the third period, the No. 2 Middlebury women’s hockey team scored twice to top Wesleyan 3-1 on Friday night. With the victory, the Panthers (9-0-2, 4-0-2) improve extend their unbeaten streak to 11, while the Cardinals fall to 6-5-1 overall and 0-4-1 in conference play. The teams play their second game of the series on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in Middletown, Conn.

    The Middlebury women's hockey team will offer a summer camp from August 9-11, 2020 in Chip Kenyon '85 Arena.   • Second-Ranked Middlebury Shuts Out Endicott

    Middlebury goalie Lin Han stopped all 27 shots she faced, as the second-ranked Panthers notched a 3-0 road win at Endicott (12-2) on Saturday. The shutout was Middlebury’s sixth this season and they have allowed only one goal in the last four contests. The Panthers (8-0-2) return to NESCAC play next weekend, with a road series at Wesleyan on January 17-18.

    Second-ranked Middlebury kicked of the 2020 part of its schedule with a 5-1 victory over visiting SUNY Potsdam on Tuesday in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (6-0-2) head to UMass Boston for a 4:00 p.m. faceoff on Friday, while the Bears (4-7-0) return home on the same day to host the University of New England at 3:00 p.m.

    Second-ranked Middlebury recorded its fourth shutout in seven games, as the Panthers skated to a 4-0 victory over visiting Utica on Saturday. Middlebury (5-0-2) returns to action on January 7, hosting SUNY Potsdam at 4:00 p.m., while the Pioneers (2-5-0) entertain Canton a day later at 7:00 p.m.

    Middlebury College women’s hockey player Madie Leidt (Killingworth, Ill.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior forward scored two of Middlebury’s three goals in the Panther/Cardinal Classic and was named tournament’s Most Outstanding Player. Leidt accounted for the Panther goal in a 1-1 tie with second-ranked Adrian on Saturday and added another goal in Sunday’s 2-1 victory over top-ranked Plattsburgh State in the championship game.

    Eighth-ranked Middlebury scored once in each of the first two periods, before holding off a late charge by top-ranked Plattsburgh State to claim the title game of the 2019 Panther/Cardinal Classic 2-1 on Sunday in Kenyon Arena. Seventh-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls won the consolation game by a 4-1 score over second-ranked Adrian. Middlebury (4-0-2) is home again on Saturday, facing Utica at 3:00 p.m., while the Cardinals (8-1-0) host Potsdam on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.

    Eighth-ranked Middlebury skated to a 1-1 tie with second-ranked Adrian Saturday in the opening round of the Panther/Cardinal Classic, as the Panthers (3-0-2) advanced to the championship game by winning a shootout 1-0. Middlebury plays for the title on Sunday at 4:00 p.m. against top-ranked Plattsbugh, a 3-1 winner over seventh-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls. The consolation game will take place at 1:00 p.m. between Adrian and UWRF.
