  • Women's Golf Finishes Eighth At NCAA Championship

    The Middlebury women's golf team finished in eighth place overall (1,311) among 21 teams at the '09 NCAA Championships in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The finish tied a school-best set in '07, after a 14th place finish a year ago. Methodist won the title for the 12th straight time with a four-day total of 1,257.

    The Middlebury College women's golf team will makes its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The Panthers earned an at-large bid and will compete with 21 teams from May 13-16 in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The event is hosted by Methodist University and will be played on the Wanamaker Course at the PGA Golf Club. Middlebury earned an eighth place finish in its first NCAA appearance in '07, following by a 14th place effort a year ago.
  • Women's Golf Wins Williams Invitational

    The Middlebury women's golf team earned another victory as the Panthers captured the seven-team Williams Spring Invitational. Middlebury shot a two-day total of 644, 18 strokes ahead of second place Mt. Holokye. Julie Ellenberger won medalist honors with a pair of 77's for a 154 overall. Just one stroke behind in second place was Middlebury's Flora Weeks with a 155. Jessica Bluestein (169), Courtney Mazzei (171) and Elizabeth Hirsch (179) rounded out the Middlebury team.
  • Women's Golf Second At Leaman

    The Panther women's golf team placed second among 10 teams competing at the Jack Leaman Invitational hosted by Amherst. The hosts won the event with a 657, followed by Middlebury (677), St. Lawrence (683) and Vassar (685). Senior Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) led the Panthers in second place, finishing with a two-day total of 159, including a 77 on day two. First-year player Flora Weeks (Seattle, Wash.) finished tied for fifth with a 162, followed by sophomore Jessica Bluestein (Tucson, Arizona) in 20th (174) and sophomore Elizabeth Hirsch (New City, N.Y.) in 31st place (182).
  • Women's Golf Opens Spring

    The Panther women's golf team opened up its spring season with a second place finish at the Vassar Invitational. Ten teams competed in the event, as Amherst won with a 668, followed by Middlebury in second with a 670. Sophomore Courtney Mazzei (Larkin Valley, Calif.) led the Panthers with an overall third place finish, shooting a two-day total of 161 on the weekend.
  • Women's Golf Wins At Williams To Wrap Up Fall Season

    The Panther women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a win at the 13-team Williams Fall Classic Tournament. Middlebury shot a two-day total of 642, sparked by a 317 on the second day of play. St. Lawrence placed second (543), followed by Mt. Holyoke (657), Williams (657) and Amherst (660).

    The Middlebury College women's golf team captured the 2008 Middlebury College Women's Golf Invitational Tournament with a two-day total of 648. The Panthers sliced 16 strokes off their day one score with a 316 on the final day of the tournament. NESCAC foe Amherst placed second with a 667, followed by Mt. Holyoke in third with a 673.
  • Women's Golf Wins At Wellesley

    The Middlebury College women's golf team captured the first annual Ann S. Batchelder Golf Invitational hosted by Wellesley in a steady rain. Originally scheduled as a two-day affair, the rain shortened event took place at the par-72 Nehoiden Golf Course with Middlebury taking the 2008 team title with a 335 in the seven-team event.
  • Women's Golf Competes At Mt. Holyoke

    The Middlebury College women's golf team sent individuals to compete at the Mt. Holyoke Invitational Tournament over the weekend. Sophomore Courtney Mazzei (Larkin Valley, Calif.) was impressive as she captured medalist honors by firing an 82, followed by a 73 for a two-day total of 155 on the weekend. Senior Julie Ellenberger (Concord, Mass.) shot a 165 to finish in a tie for 16th place, while rookie Flora Weeks (Seattle, Wash.) tied for 23rd with a 168.
  • Women's Golf Opens Fall At Dartmouth
    September 14, 2008
    The Panther women's golf team opened up its fall season with a 10th place finish at the 17-team Dartmouth Invitational. Middlebury finished third among Division III teams with a two-day total of 668. Harvard won the event with a 616, followed by Dartmouth (625) and Brown (629).
