Middlebury College women's basketball player Betsy Knox (Bethesda, Md.) has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) First-Team Academic All-District selection by the organization.
Knox boasts a 3.78 grade point average and is a political science major. The senior led the team with 14.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots/game this season. Knox's rebounds place her second in the NESCAC, while ranking fourth in blocked shots and seventh in points. She also shot 47.8 percent from the floor, placing her second on the team and fifth in the conference. She finishes her career as the school's all-time leader in blocked shots with 114, while pulling down 524 rebounds with 924 points.
Knox will now be placed on a national ballot with the Academic All-American team slated to be released on March 10. Just five members are named to each All-District team, with Middlebury's District II consisting of schools from nine different states.
