  • NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    March 13, 2019
    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship Team for each winter sport sponsored by the conference. The All-Sportsmanship Team is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport and is selected by the players and coaches from their respective team for their positive contributions to sportsmanship. The student-athlete selected must be in good academic standing and a member of the team at the conclusion of the season in order to be eligible for selection.
  • NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team Members Honored

    The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its 2018-19 Winter All-Academic Selections. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution. The following are Middlebury's 124 representatives, the highest among the 11 conference institutions.
  • Panthers Fall To #10 DeSales In NCAA Tournament

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team saw its successful season come to a close, as the Panthers fell to host DeSales 70-55 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday. Middlebury capped the year with a record of 20-8, posting the most wins in a season since the 2001-02 campaign and the program’s fifth 20-win season.
  • Middlebury Tops John Carroll, Advances In NCAA Tournament

    The Middlebury women's basketball team netted a 62-54 victory over John Carroll on Friday at DeSales, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996. The Panthers (20-7) move into Saturday's 7:00 p.m. regional final against the host Bulldogs, a 77-49 winner over Shenandoah. Middlebury reached the 20-win plateau for the first time since the 2001-02 season and just the fifth overall in program history.
  • Davis Garners Second-Team All-NESCAC Honor

    Middlebury College women's basketball player Maya Davis (Milton, Mass.) has been chosen Second-Team All-NESCAC selection. The junior picks up her second-straight all-conference honor. She and her teammates will travel to DeSales to meet John Carroll in an NCAA Tournament first-round game on Friday night. The Panthers own a 19-7 record and are making their first NCAA appearance in 21 years.
  • Women's Basketball Earns First NCAA Bid Since 1997-98

    For the first time in 21 years, the Middlebury women’s basketball team will take part in the NCAA Tournament. The Panthers (19-7) earned an at-large bid and will travel to DeSales University (Pa.) for a regional on March 1-2. Middlebury will take on John Carroll (22-6), while DeSales (25-2) will face Shenandoah (16-13) in the other matchup.
  • Women's Basketball Falls to Top-Ranked Bowdoin in NESCAC Semifinals

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team fell by a score of 84-58 in a NESCAC Semifinal game at top-ranked Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers (19-7) will hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament when the pairings are announced Monday, while the Polar Bears (26-0) advance to Sunday’s championship game.
  • Women's Basketball Plays Bowdoin in NESCAC Semifinals
    February 21, 2019
    Middlebury continues its quest toward a NESCAC Women's Basketball Championship when it takes on top-seeded Bowdoin in a NESCAC Semifinal game on Saturday, February 23 at 2:00 p.m. The game between the fifth-seeded Panthers and the Polar Bears will be followed by a match-up between second-seeded Amherst and third-seeded Tufts at 4:00 p.m. The league's championship is being hosted by Bowdoin in Morrell Gymnasium. Semifinal winners will square off in the conference final on Sunday, February 24 at 12:00 p.m. with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament at stake.
  • Davis Named NESCAC Player of the Week

    Middlebury College women’s basketball player Maya Davis (Milton, Mass.) has been named the NESCAC Player of the Week. The junior scored 22 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter, on 7-15 shooting and was 8-10 from the foul line as No. 5 Middlebury defeated No. 4 Trinity, 75-71, in a NESCAC Quarterfinal contest. Davis also grabbed eight rebounds to go with three steals and dished out a pair of assists.
  • Women's Basketball Tops Trinity, Advances To NESCAC Semifinals

    Middlebury advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals for the first time since 2013, as the Panthers netted a 75-71 road triumph at Trinity on Saturday. The fifth-seeded Panthers (19-6) will face host and top seed Bowdoin next Saturday in Maine. Middlebury's 19 victories are the most since the record-breaking 22-win campaign of 2001-02.
  • Women’s Basketball Travels to Trinity for NESCAC Quarters
    February 14, 2019
    Middlebury starts its run toward the NESCAC Women's Basketball Championship when it travels to Trinity for a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday, February 16 at 3:00 p.m. The winner advances to the semifinal round next weekend at the highest remaining seed and the champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
  • Middlebury Drops Regular Season Finale at Amherst
    February 09, 2019
    Fourth-ranked Amherst (21-2, 8-1) went on a big third quarter run, opening up some breathing room on its way to a 72-62 win over Middlebury (18-6, 5-5) on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers have clinched the fifth seed for the upcoming NESCAC Tournament, and will visit either Tufts or Trinity for a quarterfinal game next Saturday.
  • Women's Hoops Earns Road Win at Hamilton
    February 08, 2019
    Middlebury improved to 18-5 on the season with a 58-55 road win at Hamilton (10-10, 0-8) on Friday night. The Panthers move to 5-4 in the NESCAC and will wrap up their regular season on Saturday at Amherst with a 3:00 p.m. start.
  • Hot-Shooting First Half Lifts Colby Past Middlebury
    February 02, 2019
    Middlebury put together a comeback attempt in Saturday’s fourth quarter, but Colby connected on 57.7 percent of its shots in the opening half and hung on for a 71-62 win Saturday in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (17-5, 4-4) return to action on Friday when they travel to Hamilton for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff, while the Mules (9-12, 2-6) visit Maine-Farmington on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Women's Basketball Drops Heartbreaker to Top-Ranked Bowdoin
    February 01, 2019
    Middlebury pushed top-ranked Bowdoin (21-0, 7-0) to the edge, but the Polar Bears came back from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to squeak out a 62-58 win on Friday night in Pepin Gym. The Panthers (17-4, 4-3) return to action on Saturday when they host Colby at 3:00 p.m., while the Polar Bears visit Williams at the same time.
  • Women's Basketball Suffers Road Loss at Trinity

    Middlebury struggled from long range as the Panthers (17-3, 4-2) fell by a score of 59-55 at Trinity (16-4, 3-3) on Sunday afternoon. Middlebury returns to action on Friday night when it entertains top-ranked Bowdoin at 7:00 p.m.
  • Middlebury Improves to 17-2 With Win Over UNE

    Middlebury dominated the boards by a 57-37 count, on its way to a 66-50 win over the University of New England (9-10) Thursday night in Pepin Gym. The 17-2 Panthers return to action on Sunday at Trinity with a 2:00 p.m. start, while the Nor’easters host Western New England on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
  • Women’s Basketball Defeats Clarkson

    Middlebury capitalized on a 12-2 run during Tuesday’s second quarter and held a decisive rebounding advantage, easing to a 59-42 victory over Clarkson in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (16-2) return to action on Thursday when they host the University of New England at 5:30 p.m., while the Golden Knights (5-10) visit Bard on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
  • Big Second Quarter Lifts Middlebury Past Williams

    Middlebury outscored visiting Williams by a 32-10 count in Saturday’s second quarter on its way to a 76-62 win Saturday in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (15-2, 4-1) return to action on Tuesday when they host Clarkson at 6:00 p.m., while the Ephs (8-9, 2-3) visit Smith on the same day.

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team got back on track with a 73-60 road win at Smith (10-5) on Tuesday night. The 14-2 Panthers return to action on Saturday with a 2:00 p.m. NESCAC contest against Williams.

    Sixth-ranked Tufts outscored Middlebury 18-6 in the third quarter, on its way to a 74-58 win over the #25 Panthers (13-2, 3-1) in Pepin Gym. The Jumbos (14-1, 3-1) return to action when they host Worcester State on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m., while the Panthers visit Smith on Tuesday.
  • No. 25 Panthers Use First-Half Runs In Win Over Bates

    Middlebury utilized runs of 12-0 and 11-0 during the first two quarters on its way to a 70-58 victory Friday over Bates (5-6, 1-2) in Pepin Gymnasium. The Panthers (13-1, 2-1) return to action on Saturday when they host sixth-ranked Tufts at 3:00 p.m., while the Bobcats play at Williams at the same time.
  • Panther Profile - Senior Ivy Houde

    Ivy Houde ’19 is in her fourth year on the Middlebury women’s basketball team and one of this winter’s captains. An economics major from Rixeyville, Virginia, Houde spent the summer of 2018 working at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.

    Middlebury saw its school-record 12-game winning streak to start the season come to an end with an 84-79 road loss at Westfield State (7-7) on Tuesday. The 25th-ranked Panthers (12-1) return to action on Friday when they host Bates at 7:00 p.m.
  • Women's Hoops Improves to 12-0 With NESCAC Road Win at Wesleyan

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team improved to 12-0 on the season and 2-0 in NESCAC play after a 69-57 win at Wesleyan (6-5, 0-2) on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers return to action on Tuesday with a 5:30 p.m. road game at Westfield State.
  • Panthers Rally For Road Win at Conn. College
    January 04, 2019
    The Middlebury women’s basketball team rallied from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter, opening NESCAC play with a 49-44 triumph at Connecticut College (9-4, 0-1) on Friday. The Panthers (11-0, 1-0) trailed 39-26 early in the final frame, before closing out the contest on a 23-5 run.  Middlebury is back in action Saturday at Wesleyan with a 3:00 p.m. tipoff.
  • Women's Basketball is 10-0 for the First Time in School History After Road Win

    The Middlebury women’s basketball team is off to its best start in school history at 10-0 after a 64-44 road win at Mt. St. Mary (N.Y.) The loss snapped a seven-game winning streak for the Knights (8-3) on Monday afternoon. The Panthers return to action on Friday when they open NESCAC play at Connecticut College with a 7:00 p.m. tipoff.
  • Middlebury Pulls Away From Visiting Keene State
    December 29, 2018
    Middlebury outscored visiting Keene State by a 20-1 count spanning 13:49 of the first and second quarters on its way to a 55-40 win Saturday over the Owls in Pepin Gymnasium. With the victory, the Panthers match the best start in program history, tying the 2001-02 team with a perfect 9-0 mark. Middlebury returns to action on Monday when they play at Mount Saint Mary (N.Y.) beginning at 1:00 p.m., while the Owls (2-9) travel to Southern Maine next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Today’s game was Middlebury’s first contest after 21 days off for the semester break.    
  • Big Second Quarter Lifts Middlebury Past Skidmore
    December 08, 2018
    Middlebury outscored Skidmore (2-7) 20-6 in the second quarter, on its way to a 71-45 win over the Thoroughbreds on Saturday in Pepin Gym. The Panthers complete the first semester with a perfect 8-0 record and will return to action on December 29th when they host Keene State at 2:00 p.m. Skidmore will entertain Vassar on December 12th with a 5:00 p.m. start.
  • Harrison Grabs 600th Rebound in Win at Plattsburgh
    December 04, 2018
    Catherine Harrison surpassed the 600-career rebound plateau, as Middlebury improved to 7-0 with an 80-70 road win at Plattsburgh State (3-4) on Tuesday night. The Panthers return to action on Saturday when they host Skidmore at 2:00 p.m.
