12/6/05 - Katie Fisher scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures Tuesday evening as the Panthers of Middlebury College defeated the Panthers of Plymouth State University in overtime, 75-64.
Joining Fisher in the double figures department for Middlebury were Katie Fehsenfeld with 14 points, Maryanne Verzosa with 11, and Alanna Young and Ashley Barron with 10 apiece. Young also collected a game-high 12 rebounds.
Middlebury led almost the entire first half, going up by 11 points on two occasions, before the hosts battled back to take a one-point lead (25-24) at the break. There were 13 lead changes in the second half, with neither team leading by more than four points, and the 58-all deadlock at the end of regulation was the eighth tie score of the game.
It was all Middlebury in the extra session, as the visitors scored the first eight points and never looked back. PSU got as close as three points with 1:30 on the clock, but Middlebury was too strong in the end.
