Sixth-ranked Bowdoin won its 39th NESCAC game in its last 40 tries as they picked up a 59-48 road win at Middlebury. The Panthers will host Colby tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., while Bowdoin travels to Williams.
A pair of first half runs sparked Bowdoin as they took a 36-21 lead into the intermission. A 7-2 spurt at the 6:57 mark and a 6-0 run to close the half gave the Polar Bears a 15-point advantage.
Bowdoin extended its 6-0 run in the second half as they scored the first seven points of the second session to take a 43-21 lead with 17:51 remaining. The Polar Bears held a game-high 24-point lead twice in the half, with Middlebury climbing back in the game late. The Panthers cut it to 14 at 3:47 and then ended the game on a 7-1 run to make it a 60-48 final.
Katie Fisher led the Panthers with 10 points on the night, while Katie Fehsenfeld and Alanna Young added seven points apiece.
Eileen Flaherty was one of four players in double figures for Bowdoin with 13 points. Marisa Berne and Jill Anelauskas added 12 points apiece, while Justine Pouravelis added 10.
