Freyre Tabbed NESCAC Player of the Week

Middlebury College softball player Sarah Freyre (Jackson, N.J.) has been selected as the NESCAC Player of the Week. The senior, who plays first base, hit .522 (12-23) over seven games in a 5-1-1 week for the Panthers. Freyre, who recorded her 100th career hit during the week, belted six doubles to go along with a homer, eight RBI and scored nine runs. She went 6-12 over the weekend with five runs scored and five RBI as Middlebury won two of three games at Wesleyan. Freyre is riding a seven-game hitting streak with five multiple-hit games in that span.

She and her teammates return to action on Wednesday with a 3:30 p.m. home doubleheader against Plattsburgh State.
