Softball Takes Two At Hamilton

Middlebury improved to 3-1 in NESCAC play as they swept a pair of road games at Hamilton. The Panthers won game one 8-0 in five innings, while capturing a 9-1 win over six innings in game two.

The Panthers had a big second inning in game one, as they plated five runs. Lauren Guza and Victoria Glowacky each had RBI singles in the inning. Middlebury plated three runs in the fourth inning as Guza and Lauren Battaglia each had RBI singles to make it an 8-0 game.

Guza went 2-3 on the day with two runs scored and two RBI, while Battaglia went 2-3 with an RBI. Jennifer Williams earned the win, allowing just one hit, while striking out four over five innings.

In game two, the Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead with four runs in the first inning. Colleen Sullivan earned an RBI single in the inning. Middlebury's other three runs came on a wild pitch, passed ball and a throwing error.

Middlebury had another big inning in the sixth as they scored five runs to take a 9-1 lead. Guza had a two-run double in the inning, with Sullivan plating a run on a ground out.

Guza went 2-2 with two runs scored and two RBI, while Glowacky was 2-4. Christine Grimaldi ended the game 2-4 with a pair of runs scored, while Katelyn Cannella went 2-3. Brittany Burke earned the win, allowing one run over six innings of work.
