The University of Vermont Carnival is complete with Middlebury earning a fourth-place finish overall as nordic competition concluded the event on Sunday. Annie Pokorny and Kelsey Phinney paced the Panther women in the 10K classic race, placing second and fourth respectively. Dartmouth won the carnival with 972 points, followed by Vermont (912), New Hampshire (723) and the Panthers (669). Races were contested at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, due to a lack of snow at the Trapp Family Lodge. Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Dartmouth Carnival.
Pokorny's second-place time was 28:03, while Phinney finished fourth stopping the clock in 28:40. Kaitlin Fink rounded out the team's scorers with a time of 29:58, good for 21st place.
On the men's side, Evan Weinman paced the squad, crossing the line in 25:56, good for 19th place in the 10K classic event. Lewis Nottonson was next in 23rd place (26:08), followed by Jacob Volz in 30th (26:25).
