Middlebury completed the Dartmouth Carnival with a fourth-place overall finish amassing 695 points. UVM won the event with 926, followed by the host school (841) and UNH (791). Alpine events took place at the Dartmouth Skiway, while nordic events were contested at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
After three consecutive wins in the giant slalom, Robert Cone finished in second place by just .19 seconds, covering the course in 1:54.77. Christopher McKenna placed seventh in 1:55.81 to earn his third top-seven finish this season. Rounding out the scorers was Ghassan Gedeon Achi, who earned a season-best ninth-place finish (1:56.52) as the Panthers wound up second in the event.
The following day, Cone earned another second-place finish, accomplishing the feat in the slalom race with a time of 1:37.97 as his squad placed second. McKenna turned in an eighth-place effort in 1:39, followed by Gedeon Achi in 16th (1:39.99).
On the women's side, three Panthers finished in a pack as the team boasted some solid finishes. Elle Gilbert led the group with a season-best 11th-place finish in 2:00.37. Just behind her in 12th was Kara Shaw, who finished 12th with a time of 2:00.63. Mary Sackbauer followed in 14th place, covering the course in 2:01.26.
The slalom race saw Gilbert pace the Panthers in 18th place with a time of 1:50.30. Next was Katy Greene in 26th (1:53.85), followed by Yina Moe-Lange, who came in 31st (1:54.69).
Heather Mooney led the women's nordic team on both days, winning the classic sprint on Friday. Kelsey Phinney placed fourth in the event, while Nicolette Amber was 14th. Mooney again paced the squad in the 10K freestyle event coming in second place overall with a time of 30:51. Phinney turned in a seventh-place finish in 31:54, followed by Amber in 23rd (33:24).
The men's sprint race saw Patrick McElravey take home a seventh-place finish to lead Middlebury. Adam Luban and Jack Steele also scored for the Panthers. On Saturday, McElravey's 20th-place finish led the team in the 10K freestyle race with a time of 27:43. Luban took home 23rd-place in the race (27:55), while Jacob Volz was the team's other scorer.
