The nordic ski team was recently in action at the College Cup races taking placing in Maine. The Panthers finished fourth overall among 18 teams scoring at the event, as they prepare to open the carnival circuit this weekend at Bates.
Patrick Johnson continued to maintain his status as one of the top racers on the collegiate circuit. Johnson won the 15K freestyle race with a time of 30:43, 21 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor. In the sprint race, Johnson was fifth among collegiate skiers, finishing with a time of 3:14. Another top finisher for the men was Ben Lustgarten, who came in seventh in the 15K race with a time of 32:07.
On the women’s side, Stella Holt was ninth in the sprint race with a time of 3:16.99. Following her were teammates Annie Pokorny in 13th (3:18.72) and Heather Mooney in 16th (3:18.98). Mooney was the team’s top racer in the 10K freestyle racing, earning a 20th place finish in 29:01.
