    The Middlebury ski team was the top Division III school, placing ninth overall at the 2012 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted by Montana State University. The Panthers enjoyed a huge final day by the men’s alpine team, as the Panthers placed three in the top 12 to win the slalom, with a pair of All-Americans.

    Only one day remains at the 2012 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted by Montana State University. Middlebury currently sits in ninth place, after today's nordic races at Bohart Ranch. Action concludes tomorrow at Bridger Bowl with the men's and women's slalom races.

    Day one of competition is complete at the 2012 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted by Montana State University. The women's 5K freestyle race and the men's 10K freestyle race were on the docket Wednesday at Bohart Ranch in Bozeman, Montana.
  • All-East Skiers Named - Pokorny Is Rookie Of The Year, Gardner Is Coach Of The Year

    Five members of the Middlebury College ski team were honored when the EISA announced its eastern awards. Senior Patrick Johnson (Anchorage, Alaska) was a first-team All-East selection, as well as one of two nordic freestyle and classic points leaders. Sophomore Ben Lustgarten (Burlington, Vt.) was named to the second-team, while Annie Pokorny (Spokane, Wash.) was named the women’s nordic rookie of the year. Middlebury nordic coach Andrew Gardner was named the nordic coach of the year. On the alpine side, junior Andrew McNealus (Woodstock, Vt.) and sophomore Hig Roberts (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) were both named to the All-East second-team.
  • Ski Team Heads To NCAA's

    Montana State University will be the host school for the 59th Annual NCAA Men’s and Women’s Skiing Championships from March 7-10, 2012. Alpine events will take place at Bridger Bowl, while the nordic events will take place at Bohart Ranch in Bozeman, Montana.
  • Panthers Place Third At 89th Middlebury College Carnival

    Middlebury finished tied for third overall at the 89th Annual Middlebury College winter carnival. Alpine events took place at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl, while nordic events were moved to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe after a lack of snow at the Rikert Ski Touring Center.  Vermont won the event with 955, followed by Dartmouth (848), Middlebury (724) and UNH (724).
  • Middlebury Set To Host Ski Carnival - Nordic Events Moved

    Middlebury College will host its 89th annual winter carnival on Friday, February 24th and Saturday, February 25th. Due to a lack of snow, the nordic races have been moved from the Rikert Ski Touring Center to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. The alpine races will be held at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. Due to the change in sites, the winter carnival banquet has been cancelled.
  • Ski Teams Race At Williams

    The Middlebury College ski team placed third overall at the 2012 Williams College Carnival. Dartmouth won the event (869), followed by UVM (840), Middlebury (690) and UNH (634). The men's GS team placed three in the top seven to win the event overall.
  • Ski Team Ends Dartmouth Carnival In Fourth Place

    The Middlebury College ski team finished fourth overall at the Dartmouth Carnival, with strong performances by the men’s alpine and nordic teams. UVM (982) won the event, followed by Dartmouth (820), UNH (722) and Middlebury (712). The Panthers return to action at the Williams Carnival next weekend.
  • Ski Team Finishes Third At UVM

    The Middlebury College ski team finished third overall at the University of Vermont Carnival. Dartmouth (916) won the event, followed by UVM (735), Middlebury (729) and UNH (698). Senior Patrick Johnson (Anchorage, Alaska) picked up two more wins over the weekend, capturing the 10K classic in 28:16, while earning a win in the 10K free with a time of 24:09, 41 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor.

    The Middlebury College ski team finished fourth at the UNH Carnival over the weekend. With the GS events cancelled, the Panthers finished with 639 points, with Vermont (1021), Dartmouth (873) and UNH (710) comprising the top three.

  • Ski Teams Finish Third At Bates Carnival

    The Middlebury College ski teams opened up their carnival season with two days of racing hosted by Bates College. Nordic races took place at Black Mountain, while the alpine events were contested at Sunday River. The Panthers finished the event third overall with 699 points, trailing UVM (1,004) and Dartmouth (837).
  • Nordic Team Preps For Season

    The nordic ski team was recently in action at the College Cup races taking placing in Maine. The Panthers finished fourth overall among 18 teams scoring at the event, as they prepare to open the carnival circuit this weekend at Bates.
  • New race course brings Rikert Nordic Center to another level

    One of the best kept secrets in cross-country skiing is now home to one of the finest race courses in the country. The Carroll and Jane Rikert Nordic Center, operated by Middlebury College and surrounded by the Green Mountains in Ripton, will start the ski season this year with a new five-kilometer trail that has been certified for competition at the highest level by skiing’s governing body, the Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS).

  • Ski Teams Open Carnival Season January 20th
    After much training, the carnival season has arrived for the Middlebury College Ski Teams. The Panthers will kick-off the six-carnival season this weekend when they travel to Bates for races on Friday and Saturday. Check out the video below to see what the alpine team has been up to.
