Women Fifth, Men Sixth at NCAA Regionals

The 22nd-ranked Middlebury women's cross country team finished fifth among 54 teams competing, while the 21st-ranked men were sixth among 54 squads at the NCAA Regional Championships. Races were hosted by Bowdoin at the Pickard Cross Country Course. Both teams will wait to see if they gain an at-large bid to the NCAA Championship meet next Saturday in Louisville, Kentucky. Williams captured both the men's and women's races.

Middlebury's top finisher on the women's side was Talia Ruxin, who placed 22nd overall with a time of 22:07. Meg Wilson covered the 6K course in 22:16, good for 25th place, followed closely by Cassie Kearney in 27th (22:19). Next for the Panthers was Sophie Nardelli, who crossed the line in 63rd place (22:56), while Chloe Smith rounded out Middlebury's scorers in 72nd place overall (23:04).

Theo Henderson boasted Middlebury's best finish of the day, placing fourth overall in the men's race with a time of 24:59. Next up for the Panthers in 25th place was Henry Fleming (25:34), followed by Connor Montgomery's 40th-place effort in 25:56. Alexander Kessler covered the 8K course in 26:12 to place 57th, while Quinlan McGaugh rounded out the top five in 62nd (26:15).
