Men's Cross Country Team Finishes Sixth at NCAA Regionals, Women Third

The Panther cross country teams took part in the NCAA Regional race hosted by Connecticut College at Harkness Memorial State Park. The women finished third among 56 teams competing, while the men were sixth among 55 squads. The Middlebury women will advance to the NCAA Championships, while the men also received a bid.

Abigail Nadler continued her impressive rookie season, placing fifth overall among 390 racers with a time of 21:47. Finishing in 19th place was Adrian Walsh, who covered the 6K course in 22:05. Katherine Tercek was next for the Panthers in 23rd place (22:09), followed by Erzsie Nagy in 26th (22:12). Rounding out the team's scorers was Emma DeCamp, who turned in a 35th-place finish in 22:28.

The men's team was paced by Sebastian Matt, Brian Rich and Ascencion Aispuro, who all finished in the top 21 among 380 competitors. Matt paced the group in 13th (25:12), Rich was two spots behind in 15th (25:17), while Aispuro covered the 8K course in 25:23, good for 21st place. Sam Klockenkemper finished the race 57th for Middlebury in 25:56, while Sam Cartwright rounded out the scorers in 62nd (25:58).
