  • Panther Cross Country Athlete Featured On Dan Rather Reports
    January 10, 2013
    Shortly after Dan Rather left CBS News in 2006, the veteran journalist joined the cable network AXS TV to produce a new weekly news program called “Dan Rather Reports.” In a 47-minute segment that aired on January 8, 2013, Dan Rather follows a group of Kenyan student-athletes – including Middlebury first-year Gilbert Kipkorir – on their journey from the African continent to American colleges and universities. 
  • Davies & Tousley Earn All-American Honors

    Middlebury College cross country runners Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) and Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) have earned All-American honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Overall finishes at the NCAA Championships is the determining factor as the top 35 individuals from both men’s and women’s races earn All-America plaudits from the USTFCCCA.
  • Men 8th, Women 11th At NCAA Cross Country Championships

    The Middlebury men’s cross country team earned a school-best eighth place finish at the 2012 NCAA Championship races hosted by Rose-Hullman Institute of Technology. North Central won the men’s title among 32 teams, with NESCAC foes Bates and Tufts finishing sixth and seventh. The Panther women just missed a top 10 finish by coming in 11th at the race. Johns Hopkins won the women’s crown, with Williams placing fourth at the event.
  • Wilkerson Earns Regional Coach Of The Year Honors

    Middlebury College cross country coach Nicole Wilkerson has been named the New England Region Men’s Coach of the Year by the USTFCCCA (U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association). In just her second season as head coach, Wilkerson led the men’s team to its first NCAA Regional win last weekend at Westfield State.
  • Cross Country Teams Headed To NCAA Championships

    The Middlebury College men’s and women's cross country teams will take part in the 2012 NCAA Championship races hosted by Rose-Hullman Institute of Technology. The 32-team races will take place at LaVern Gibson Course in  Terre Haute, Indiana with the women’s event at 11:00 a.m. and the men’s race at 12:00 p.m. eastern.
  • Men's Cross Country Wins NCAA Regional - Women Third

    The Middlebury men’s cross country team won its first NCAA Regional, taking home the New England title at Westfield State among 50 teams competing. The Panther women placed third in their 51-team event, with both teams advancing to next week’s NCAA Championship races at Rose-Hulmen IT in Indiana.
  • Whipps Honored By NESCAC

    Middlebury College cross country runner Lucy Whipps (Portland, Ore.) has been named the NESCAC performer of the week. The junior led the Panthers to a first place finish at the ECAC Division III Championship on Saturday. She completed the 6,000-meter course in 22:57.21 to take second place overall.
  • XCountry Squads Compete At ECAC's

    The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the 2012 ECAC Championship hosted by Williams. The Middlebury women won the 41-team event, while the men were fifth among 43 squads. The Panthers were resting several of their top racers, with the NCAA Regionals slated for next Saturday.

    Five members of the Middlebury College cross country teams were honored when the NESCAC announced its all-league teams. Athletes earned the honor based on their performance at the recent NESCAC Championship race hosted by Bowdoin on October 27th.

    The Middlebury College cross country teams both earned second place finishes at the 2012 NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin. The Tufts men and Williams women claimed the crowns as Coby Horowitz of Bowdoin and Amherst's Keri Lambert won the individual titles.

    Bowdoin will host the 2012 NESCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Brunswick, Maine. The 30th annual meet will kick off with the men’s 8-kilometer race at 11:00 a.m. and conclude with the women’s 6-kilometer competition at 12:00 p.m.
  • XCountry Teams Sweep At St. Michael's

    The Middlebury College cross country teams both picked up wins at St. Michael's on Friday afternoon. Each team scored the minimum of 15 points, with the women placing racers 1-9 and the men owning places 1-7. Both teams defeated the University of Vermont, St. Michael's and Lyndon State at the meet.
  • Cross Country Teams Win At Westfield State

    The Panther cross country teams were in action on Saturday, competing at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State. The 13th-ranked Middlebury men won the 40-team event with 23 points, followed by Amherst (111) and Connecticut College (140). The third-ranked Panther women captured the 43-team race with 28 points, followed by Amherst (64), and Wellesley (158).

    Middlebury College cross country runner Addie Tousley was recently featured with a Q&A session on NCAA.com. The All-American is a two-sport stand-out at Middlebury, participating in Track & Field as well as cross country.
  • Cross Country Teams Win State Meet

    The Middlebury cross country teams both captured the State Championship meet hosted by Lyndon State College. The fourth-ranked Middlebury women won the eight-team event by placing the top seven runners, while the 12th-ranked Panther men captured their nine-team meet with 12 of the top 15 racers.

    The Middlebury cross country teams were in action on Saturday, competing at Williams in the Purple Valley Classic held at Mt. Greylock High School. The meet featured teams spanning all three divisions of the NCAA. The ninth-ranked Panther men were second only to Williams in the 17-team race, while the third-ranked women were third to Williams and MIT in a race featuring 15 squads.
  • Tousley Named NESCAC Performer Of The Week

    Middlebury College women’s cross country runner Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) has been named the NESCAC Performer of the Week. Last weekend at the Aldrich Invitational, the senior won the women’s race by 23 seconds, finishing with a time of 18:13. She and her teammates will return to action this weekend at the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams.
  • Cross Country Squads Win Aldrich Invitational

    The Middlebury cross country teams hosted their only meet of the season as the Panther men and women both captured the Aldrich Invitational. The top-ranked Middlebury women convincingly won the six-team race, placing the top six runners and 11 of the top 12 finishers. The 10th-ranked men were equally as dominate in their six-team race, owning the top 11 finishers.
  • Davies Is NESCAC Performer of the Week

    Middlebury College men’s cross country runner Jack Davies (Grosse Point, Mich.) has been the inaugural NESCAC Performer of the Week. The senior completed the 8,000-meter course in 25:37 to take 22nd place at the Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. 
  • Cross Country Begins Season At Dartmouth

    The Middlebury cross country teams opened their season by taking part in the Dartmouth Invitational. In an event comprised of Division I teams, the Middlebury women were fifth behind Georgetown, Dartmouth, Syracuse and UConn. The Panther men were third, trailing Syracuse and Dartmouth in a three-team race.
  • Cramer Among Top 30 Nominees for NCAA Woman of the Year

    Recent Middlebury College graduate Margo Cramer '12 has been chosen as one of the top 30 nominees for the 2012 NCAA Woman of the Year Award. Cramer was a two-sport standout for the Panthers, starring in both cross country and track and field.
