The Middlebury cross country teams hosted their annual invitational races on campus, which will now be known as the "Aldrich Invitational", after long-time head coach Terry Aldrich who retired last year. Saturday’s races featured seven full men's teams and six women's squads in action. The Panthers dominated both races, placing eight of the top 10 men’s and women’s finishers.
Michael Schmidt completed a four-year sweep of the race, finishing with a time of 26:04, a career-best for the course. John Davies was next with a time of 26:17, followed by Nate Sans in third place in 26:29. Finishing fourth was Kevin Wood in 26:32, followed by Sam Miller in fifth place with a time of 26:33 to round out the Middlebury scorers.
Margo Cramer won the women’s race after a third place finish a year ago, finishing with a time of 18:46. Addie Tousley finished in second place (18:57), followed by Katie Carlson in third (19:02) and Emily Attwood (19:05) in fourth place. Chelsea Ward-Waller was Middlebury’s final scorer, placing seventh overall with a time of 19:34.
