    11/19/05 - Jimmy Butcher represented the Middlebury College men's team at the NCAA men's cross country championships hosted by Ohio-Wesleyan. The sophomore finished the race in 47th place with a time of 26:44, 1:31 off the winning team. Butcher's finish was impressive, with 211 competitors in the race.

Williams won the event, followed by Colby, Amherst, Middlebury and Tufts; each team qualifying for next weekend's championship meet at Ohio-Wesleyan.

The Panthers finished eighth in the 43-team race, with the top three squads qualifying for the NCAA's. Individually, Jimmy Butcher qualified for next weekend's championship meet with a 12th place finish in 26:02, 1:01 off the winning time.

    11/3/05 - Women's cross country runner Andrea Giddings (S. Portland, Maine) has been named to the All-NESCAC second team. The junior earns the honor for the second consecutive season after a solid 12th place finish in 18:39 during the conference's championship meet on October 29th.
