Based on his performances at the Division III Indoor Men's New England Championships, senior Jonathan Perlman (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) was selected as the Gordon Kelly Indoor Track Most Valuable Performer of the meet. He is the second-straight Panther to earn the accolade, joining teammate Jimmy Martinez who won the award in 2018. This year's two-day regional event was hosted by MIT at the Johnson Athletic Center.
Perlman won the mile run with a time of 4:10.82, claiming the event by 1.28 seconds. A few events later, he anchored the winning distance medley relay team with the event's top mark of 10:10.99.
During the NCAA Indoor Championships in Boston, Perlman earned All-American honors when he ran the final leg of the victorious DMR relay. The Panther quartet stopped the clock with a NCAA-winning time of 9:56.54, claiming the title by 2.21 seconds over runner-up North Central (Ill.). The relay earned the first indoor national event championship in program history and the third for the Panthers, joining the 2011 and 2012 women's DMR teams.
