12 Panthers Collect USTFCCCA All-Region Track & Field Honors

The Middlebury track and field teams were well represented on the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region squads. A total of 12 Panthers collected All-New England accolades when the national organization announced its award winners for the indoor season.

The top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each of the members of the region's top-three relay teams.

On the men's side, eight Panthers were honored. Senior Jimmy Martinez (Maplewood, N.J.) was recognized in three events, while classmate Jonathan Perlman (Bala Cynwyd, Pa.) and junior Arden Coleman (Burlingame, Calif.) were honored in two events each. Seniors John Natalone (Dix Hills, N.Y.) and Minhaj Rahman (Woodhaven, N.Y.), along with junior Nathan Hill (Hinsdale, Ill.) and sophomores Matthew Durst (Dublin, Calif.) and William Robertson (Summit, N.J.) were honored for one event.

Martinez was named All-New England in 400 meters, the distance medley relay and the 4x400-meter relay events, while Perlman was honored in the mile and the 4x400-meter relay. Coleman was honored in the DMR and the 4x400 as well.

Durst and Robertson tallied all-region accolades in the 4x400 relay, while Hill was lauded for his efforts in the DMR

Rahman earned all-region honors in the weight throw, while Natalone was recognized in the pole vault.

For the women, senior Rory Kelly (Winnetka, Ill.) and rookie Cassie Kearney (Rockland, Mass.) led four Panthers with All-New England honors in three events. As an individual, Kelly was recognized in the 3,000-meter event, while Kearney was recognized in the 800 meters. Kelly and Kearney were also a part of the All-New England distance medley relay team along with senior Abigail Nadler (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Gretchen McGrath (Londonderry, N.H.).
